The Pope of Trash

About Me

Filmmaker. Started making films at a very early age. Used to watch bad movies from my roof at the local drive-in theater in Baltimore. Grew up with two of the stars of my movies, Divine and Mink Stole. Created the most infamous midnight movie ever: Pink Flamingos. New movie in production. Also teach a class during the summer in Europe. Have been featured in many documentaries, including Castles in the Sky, documentary about formstone in Baltimore, the Cockettes, and Divine Trash. Helped transform Hairspray into a Broadway musical. Attended catholic school during adolescence. Have one younger brother. Select a movie to premier at the MD film festival in Baltimore. Also guest starred on the Simpsons as a thrift store owner. You can purchase postcards from my films at Flashbacks or visit a huge statue of Divine at the AVAM.
