This fresh new voice is that of Derick H. Hailing from the neighbourhoods of Toronto, DH was introduced to music since birth. Surrounded by the strings of his father’s guitar, and the melodic sounds of local choirs, this seasoned artist began writing and producing his own music as a teenager. With that experience and talent, DH was able to create a buzz in the underground scene. His first single, "Everybody", found its way as a "Leather Ball/ Black and Blue" exclusive live performance. With some newfound local exposure, DH caught the attention of DJ/Producer Mark Anthony. From their initial meeting, these two artists have been creating unforgettable pieces together. In 2002, the duo collaborated on 2 singles (Runaway and Set Me Free) for the producer’s critically acclaimed album, Ritual. "Runaway", which was the first track released off the Ritual album, found its way to various top ten lists. "Runaway’s" success doesn’t end there. In October of that same year, the song could be heard as the opening piece for the world famous Black and Blue event. He was the headliner for the Supersonic show at Black and Blue 2006. Now already a B&B fresh new artist, DH will see his hit song, "Treat Me Right", added to the event’s compilation CD, which was later released by Master Beat. DH is a name that is gaining popularity in the pop commercial and dance scenes. His style, which is a blend of new age, retro 80’s and dance, has been said to be reminiscent of such artists as Depeche Mode and the Cure. Now the talents of this singer/songwriter and producer have all come together on his first solo album titled Take All Of Me available on itunes. With a variety of Dance, Rn’B and slow tracks Derick H. has unleashed himself through his music. A complete journey through the eyes of this artist.By Jenny Peoples
