My Interests

Where a part of me would always like to be right now...

Where I'm from originally...
Narragansett Bay Lighthouse. I love lighthouses. Anything involving lighthouses would always make a great gift for me. Keep that in mind.
Apropos of nothing, I love penguins. If I had to do it all over again, I'd have become a penguinologist. Anyway, gift items featuring penguins are always welcomed.
Back to my life story...my alma mater...
Where I lived from 1976 to 1986, wild times...
Where I lived from 1986 until very recently...
Where I live now (and am loving it)...

I'd like to meet:

The young man who posed for this...Just to shake his hand, of course.

Music:

The greatest musical ever...? Or is it...?
One of my favorite singers...
One of my favorite albums from the 60s...
Listened to this over and over and over as a kid...you think it gave my parents an inkling I was gay?
More favorites (lotsa divas, of course)...
Bought this when it was first released, in 1964...
Also bought this as soon as it came out, in 1963, loved Babs from the start...

Movies:

My favorite movie, for some personal reasons, and of course, because it's one of the greatest American comedies.
Epic yet intimate, centered on a deeply complex character caught up in sweeping historical events, this is one of the greatest films ever made, and can be seen over and over again, each time offering new insights.
I love Hitchcock movies, and this is my favorite...
Another one of the greatest comedies...
No need to ask why these two would be favorites...
I love Katharine Hepburn, and this is one of her best...
Another all-time favorite...
One of my favorites among more recent films...
Some favorite documentaries...

Television:

My favorite TV show ever, and in my opinion the greatest situation comedy ever.
But followed closely by the immortal...
Another favorite, "Upstairs Downstairs," which aired on Masterpiece Theatre on PBS for five years in the 70s...
Other favorite series...
AbFab...

"As Time Goes By" (yes, another British show).
"The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (a campy spy show from the 60s).

In my opinion, the greatest miniseries ever, "I Claudius"...
Another fabulous miniseries, like "I Claudius" it was produced by the BBC and aired in the States on Masterpiece Theatre...
Another favorite miniseries...
One of the best TV movies ever...
Another wonderful TV movie...
This is a lot of fun...

Books:

One of my favorite writers, Flannery O'Connor...

More favorites...

I read this delightful book when I was a kid; it was out of print for many years, I believe, but was reissued due to the success of "84 Charing Cross Road"...

Heroes:

All our soldiers, past and present, but especially those who fought in this war, because my father was among them...

Rosa Parks, who, in 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama, dared to refuse to give up her seat on a bus to a white man, thereby changing history...
Pope John XXIII, a humble and holy man, who transformed the Catholic Church. If he was Pope today, I think the church would be much more welcoming.
