Quality of Life
Written by and starring former San Francisco graffiti writer Brian Burnam and directed by Benjamin Morgan, Quality of Life tells the story of two brilliant street artists whose lives and friendship are turned upside down after they are convicted. Featuring a driving hip-hop soundtrack and the stunning visual landscape of the San Francisco Mission District, the film explores the absurdity of so-called "quality of life" laws, which lump graffiti in with drugs, prostitution and general urban blight. Quality of Life has played at the Berlin, Stockholm, and Seattle Film Festivals.
The Outdoorsmen: Blood Sweat And Beers
Once a year, an exclusive group of men travels to a top-secret location somewhere in the wooded mountains of Washington State to compete in an all-day event they call The Outdoorsmen. They battle their way through a series of events that combine physical challenges with high-speed beer chugging. Directed by Scott Allen Perry, The Outdoorsmen premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was an audience favorite at the Austin Film Festival.
Before The Music Dies
Made by local Austin filmmakers Andrew Shapter and Joel Rasmussen, Before the Music Dies tells the story of how the music industry has abandoned both artists and fans in its single-minded pursuit of corporate profits.The film, which premiered to sold-out audiences at the 2006 SXSW Film Festival, features interviews and musical performances from Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, Erykah Badu, Branford Marsalis, Doyle Bramhall II, Questlove, and Calexico, among many others.
