Haydenfilms President and Director Patrick Steward Go To Cannes With "The Hollow Tree"
Hayden Craddolph, president of Haydenfilms, Kutztown, an independent film production and distribution company, and Patrick Steward, an Allentown, Pa. native and independent filmmaker, attended the 2007 Cannes International Film Festival held on the French Riviera in late May where Steward’s Super16 film, “The Willow’s Tears,†was shown as part of the festival’s Short Film Corner. Steward also promoted his latest film, “The Hollow Tree†at Cannes.
Craddolph and Steward have been collaborating for the last few years and met while Craddolph was attending Kutztown University and Steward was a film and television major at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Haydenfilms is working with Steward on the completion of his NYU thesis 35mm short film, “The Hollow Tree,†which is was shot in the Lehigh Valley as was “The Willow’s Tears.â€

Haydenfilms would like to thank the Kutztown University Alumni Association for graciously hosting the Haydenfilms Roadshow and Seminar on April 2nd and 3rd. This event was designed to bring together executives, filmmakers, actors, directors, producers, educators, students and allied businesses from the movie industry.
President of Kutztown University, Dr. F. Javier Cevallos delivered welcoming remarks to begin the festivities. Monday evening featured a screening of four short films including, "SmartCard" by James Oxford, "Photograph" by Sarah Lambert, "Fortunate Son" (winner of Haydenfilms' first festival) by Quinn Saunders, and "The Powder Puff Principle" (Haydenfilms 2.0 festival winner). A q&a session with Hayden, John Burgess, Patrick Steward, Dr. Louis Schwartz (Kutztown University), and well known actor Clint Howard (Principal Richard Skelter in "The Powder Puff Principle") followed the screening. An in-depth seminar was held on Tuesday evening, giving everyone in the community with an interest in film, a chance to spend a few hours with some successful industry professionals. Kutztown University and Haydenfilms, LLC plan to make this a special annual event.

On January 11, 2007, John Burgess was awarded the $10,000 grand prize at the Director's Guild Theater in New York City for his film, "The Powder Puff Principle," starring Clint Howard and Linda Blair.
