About Me

Llegaste a mi pagina! So, quien soy? I like to have just enough fun to keep myself out of trouble, be just weird enough to seem normal most of the time, and talk enough circular nonsense to sound smart.

My Interests

Talk to me about domestic and global politics, biology, public health, sexuality, education, the visual and performing arts, music, movies, volleyball, baseball, travel, languages, or my students. But I can talk a lot about them, so you might want to cut me off at some point...

I'd like to meet:

You! Well, only if you are smarter than a one-handed monkey on acid. Cuz, you know...I'm as smart as Bill Gates or something...

Music:

I am in love with Chris Brown's new track "Forever"...it's instant good mood... But for the most part, I like most of my hip hop off the charts, although I occasionally indulge in over-produced, talent-lacking crap if it has a good beat I can dance to. Unless it's so-called Southern Rap (that stuff gives me the willies). I am similarly snobbish about my Reggaeton picks, mostly listen to the less-accessible 90s reggaeton, back when one track was 25 minutes (or one side of one underground production on TAPE!!!). Besides rap and reggaeton, I also listen to salsa, merengue and bachata...y'know in an attempt not to get kicked out of the Puerto Rican community for being so edumacated ;) I listen to a lot of sappy R&B , just don't tell my boyfriend...And I have a few guilty pleasure songs in almost every genre of music: pop, pop in spanish, rock, and even country!

Movies:

Romantic comedy: The American President Drama: Ocean's 11 Action: Kill Bill Vols. 1 & 2 Foreign: El Crimen del Padre Amaro Dorky biology movie: Outbreak All-time faves: anything with Edward Norton, except The Italian Job Animated: Ice Age Childhood memory: Mary Poppins (in spanish...) Oldies: No way to treat a lady! More to come...

Television:

Any forensic/investigation shows like Forensic Files, CSI or Law and Order SVU. I like James Lipton in Inside the Actor's studio. And for reasons beyond my comprehension, I have a thing for watching those three ditsy blondes on "The Girls Next Door"

Books:

The best boyfriend ever just got me a copy of a 1st edition of Kinsey's "Sexual Behavior of the Human Female"... and that's why I love him so much! Last read: Cartas en Jibaro English Fave. all-time fiction in English: The Count of Monte Cristo Fave. all-time nonfiction: Symbiotic Planet Fave. all-time fiction in Spanish: Felices Dias Tio Sergio Fave. all time nonfiction in Spanish: El Grito de Lares

Heroes:

My mom.
