About Me

Hi. My father named me Laetiçia; pronounced LEH'-tee-sseeya, and not luh-TEE-sha. Effort is all I would ask of you. *HINT: There is no "sha" sound in my name :)* I will generally answer to Lettuce.
My passion is dance, and sometimes, I fiddle with lights and call myself a designer. Sometimes, I teach -- because Lettuce loves the chilrens . When I'm lucky, people pay me to juggle your personalities or wrangle mustaches. I enjoy listening, moving, and daydreaming to music. Sometimes, I play my sax with Coltrane up real loud and pretend I'm keeping up. Writing brings me closer to peace. As does running. And bathing. Indeed, the surest way to my heart is by filling my black hole of a belly.
Sometimes I think too hard. Other times, my feet find themselves lodged in my mouth. On average, I'm an okay lady to talk to. As a general rule, I don't like strangers, stroking your ego or pilates one hundreds pilates. And mooshy bananas give me the wind.
Some things that make me truly happy:
1. hugging, holding, and general human contact
2. the beautifully distracting skies as viewed from the bottom of McCarren Pool
3. Jessica Emmanuel is my favorite person in the whole wide world :)
4. Lower East Side because those bamas know how to eat boiiiii! (par example: Dumpling Man , Viva Pizza , and Sugar Sweet Sunshine )
5. acting a damned fool when I'm certain no one is watching
6. My fly little online shop, BelleMichou , named for my mother and her incredible taste. You're welcome to browse through my collection of vintage apparel and accessories. I bet I can sell you your new favorite thing.

9. I deeply enjoy hummus.
*HINT: If you take me on a date to eat falafel, I will put you on my top friends... and then kiss you ;)*
10. Cycling in pumps

I'd like to meet:

People who don't mind the quiet moments in conversation: people who think aloud sometimes: people who whole-heartedly enjoy moving and making noise, and saying something: who don't mind cracking a smile once in a while: people who like to stare and touch: people with patience, who can't stand by and do nothing. Artists. Dreamers. Givers. Fighters. Lovers. Movers. Shakers. Music Makers. You. And all yo peoples.

Music:

... reminiscent of that thick, sweaty, funky mass pulsating, gyrating, bumping and grinding by the skillful hands of our music makers.

The kind of beautiful noise that takes me back to sun showers on my block and the boy next door and lazy afternoons on the back steps.

... jazz and blues and soul and rock n' roll and it gets in you and doesn't let go. And you have to submit, because there's no point in fighting the funk.
