There is a loftier ambition than merely to stand high in the world. It is to stoop down and lift man

About Me

When I was in first grade, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up: a writer. And from that point on, my life was all about becoming the best writer I could be.
I attended journalism school. I worked in politics to establish connections with sources that would later serve me well in my journalism career. And before I finished college, I was working as an investigative journalist at the NBC affiliate in a top 50 market. At 23, I was sitting across the table from James Earl Ray -- confessed assassin of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. -- for an exclusive interview on the eve of his parole hearing. Never would I have dreamed that 10 years later I would be working in advertising... but that's where my path took me.
My career took a half dozen unexpected twists and turns, taking me in new and exciting directions I never could have dreamed of myself. I was a news promotion writer/producer. I worked at a cable television network. I did a short sentence at a small ad agency. And always... ALWAYS... I was writing.
Yogi Berra once said, "When you come to a fork in the road, take it." And I guess that has been the mantra that has guided me throughout my career to this point, and likely will guide me as I continue along this journey. When an interesting and challenging opportunity presents itself, take it. And when the job you thought you'd always wanted turns out to be less than you deserve, move on. Sometimes obstacles aren't road blocks; they're detour signs.
Open yourself up to opportunities and enjoy the journey!

I'd like to meet:

People who are self-aware, not self-centered.
People who can create something,
build something,
or make something from nothing.
People who are passionate about something... anything.
People who follow through
even when it's not easy.
People who make me laugh,
make me dream,
make me want to be my best self
but love me just the way I am right now.
