I love to laugh and play practical jokes on people, usually the kind that last for a few days or longer. I get bored easily so I am usually changing things around me quite a bit, whether it is buying a new vehicle or refurnishing my house in a whole new color. I usually try to find the humor in most situations. Why? Because it's easier than looking for a reason to be in doubt, fear or unbelief. Not that I take serious things lightly, I just don't believe in letting things affect me to the point where it interferes with my life, health, or even just my general thought process. I try not to rent out space in my mind to negativity, instead I brush off the negative and seek Gods way of doing things...
I am extremely critical of myself as I like for things
that I set out to accomplish to actually achieve its goal.Special needs children are my passion. I worked for five years in the public school system with children with autisim and children with behavior disorders (or both), yes, they now have an official diagnosis for kids that are off the chain. I got pretty tired of always having to get physical with somebodys child because they want to test your abilities. And you know what? They didn't mind you doing it. I had a student come to me with a big smile on his face and say "Ms. McKinney I heard you know how to restrain" His face was lit up with a world of excitement, anticipating the day I would have to restrain him. That day finally did come. He decided to go on a rage and took a swing at me and believed, if only for a moment, that his fist would actually make contact with me. With the intention of creating great regret, I had him down to the floor within seconds and locked in the 'time out' room within 3 minutes, and suspended within an hour, (that was too bad, I really liked that kid). Anyhow, that job gets tiring after a while, though the passion is still there, I've moved on.I am a writer, just finished a great script and now I'm ready for the hard part of getting it out there. I have the utmost confidence in what I do, not just because of the drive I have for it, but because I know that it is an anointing of God that allows me to be able to do what I do, and anything that comes from God has got to be great. So although I know the process of getting it out there may be tedious, I know that it will happen.I'm loving it!
