INTENSE
UPDATED for 2008I Manage and Sing for UK power metallers INTENSE, March/April time we released our latest album As Our Army Grows on Napalm Records with whom we have signed a multi album deal. The album got released everywhere except Brazil as far as i know with it being licensed out in Russia and Taiwan which is great news for the band.We also got some cool gigs playing with Leatherwolf, Onslaught and Dream Evil plus Skyclad (once again) and we got to play Headbangers Open air in Germany which was great. We played our lowest amount of shows this year though as we were waiting on news of a tour that we were hoping to get on... it went on and on etc but then the tour crumbled and it was too late for us to re-arrange holidays etc... real shame but heh 2008 should Rock... as well as writing for the new album, me and the guys want to get out there and show our stuff..I have to say that i think we're probably one of the easiest bands to deal with as we don't give people shit... i see the way some other bands behave and just roll my eyes.. Maybe we're not rock n roll enough.. (yeah right!!) We'll soon be looking for a keyboard player to come into the fold for Live shows though this may turn into a full time thing depending on the person who comes in. What i do know is that that person is going to have be the RIGHT person as we are a bit of a gang... we're all really comfortable with eachother and get on really well and we won't have someone rocking the boat... Once we do find the right person though .. i think they'll find life in Intense pretty cool and stress free :-)
Cool People vs The Arrogant Twats
A big part of playing Live is that we get to meet and hang out with lots of cool people from other bands (as well as fans of the bands of course).. and there is a bit of a social scene over here amongst bands.. of course you do get the odd arrogant dickhead and they can just dissappear up their own asses as far as i'm concerned .. life is really too short... UPDATE-- Some Promoters fall into this category too.. we played 2 shows last year where we weren't looked after particularly well and let down... which saw the band out of pocket and myself personally too... not impressed people and i don't forget...!! Amongst the COOL people, i like to see 'em do well and though naturally competitive (it's a Leo thing you know) it really does please me when people get a break, do well etc even play a great show... If i tell you you've played a great show it will mean you have (unless i'm drunk lol) whether you care or not is your business but i like to voice my opinion anyhow :-)
Voicing My Opinion
One thing i really can't help is telling people how i feel, this obviously varies to different degrees on how well i know you or how badly or well you have affected me... i apologise now as this isn't going to change.... If it's been good you'll probably be a friend for life...(i'm pleased to say that these are in the majority) and i'll get your back and stand by you etc etc. If it's been bad then i'll probably not want to share the same air as you anytime soon.. i do take things very personally and i can't help it.. .Sorry !!
PROGPOWER UK
Was involved in promoting PPUK in 2006 but am no longer for reasons already posted.. 2008 Sees a move of venue for PPUK from Cheltenham to Bristol. It still be a cracking show and i can't wait to see Evergrey and Brainstorm in particularly. The Centaur in Cheltenham is a superb venue but unfortunately one that costs an arm and a leg so .. times have to change... my best wishes to Jon and Wendy with PPUK ongoing .. i hope they get the support they deserve...
Footie
I'm also a supporter of Liverpool FC and endure the highs and lows of supporting the best club in the world :-), i don't get up there as often as i'd like but do have a priority membership. I'm also lucky that through my work i get to do the "corporate" thing now and again and have been lucky to be entertained by Carlsberg and Budweiser. I try and catch every game i can on TV and have Prem Plus, in fact it's only through Work, Rehearsal or PPUK itself that i've missed any Liverpool games that have been televised..

I'd like to meet:

Anyone into similar things as me, but please leave behind the egos (you know who you are :-) ) as i don't deal well with egos.. anyone that enjoys Intense and basically anyone who wants to chat.. i'm very sociable though some people may say i'm TOO sociable lol *ahem* so excuse me if i'm naturally flirtatious with the fairer sex (it's one of my many downfalls *lol*) and IT IS purely fun ..

Music:

METAL!! I have a bit of an obsession with Power Metal which is rather fortunate really ... Bands i'm obsessive about are;Iced Earth, Nevermore, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Evergrey,Sonata Arctica, Demons and Wizards plus the loads more i like too.. Books:

I'm fortunate that i get about an hour everyday to read at lunch and it helps clear my mind and gets me away from all things mundane... my fave authors are. David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, Tad Williams and probably a few i've forgotten...
.... ../a

Heroes:

Matt Barlow (The Iced Earth years and interested to hear his new stuff), Sebastian Bach (the boy can sing), Robbie Fowler (for his loyalty, skill and ability to wind people up) ..
.. ../a
Iced Earth in the good old days... i'm still holding out for Matt to return to the fold...
.... ../a
I was a massive Skid Row fan.. and saw them about 9 times in all i think and got to meet the boys.... my singing teacher was a massive Bach fan even though he was an opera dude so that was really cool ...
.... ../a
I only believe in one God and his name is Robbie :-) ... (Liverpool fans will get that) if you haven't read his Autobiography do so now it's a classic and very entertaining .. it also answers a lot of questions ...
