Lately I have been focusing on work quite a bit, but I've been doing some new things too. I ride a bike that doesn't go anywhere and I do push ups and sit ups and stretch and all kinds of shit that's supposed to get me in better shape. If you know me, you know that's weird for me - but I'm getting used to it. I still like to eat some pretty crappy food sometimes, but it is much less frequent lately. I feel pretty good about the whole thing.
OK, so I already met my wife on MySpace, what more could I ask for? I've met a lot of people out and about, so if you see me out and I don't recognize you, please don't be mad at me. If you still want to know me even though I might not recognize you and I suck at names, just submit an application to my secretary . She will get back to you.View All Friends | View Blog | Add Comment
Due to the nature of my chosen profession, it is necessary to keep abreast of all new music. I like some of it, I don't like some of it. When I listen to music, I listen to Pandora.com and set it to Eric Prydz. That's my workout soundtrack. My favorite song right now is The Great Escape by Boys Like Girls. I can't decide if it's emo or not, but since I like it - it can't be. It's been a while since I wanted to hear a new rock song over and over again - but something about it just seems to click with me. To tell the truth, I don't even know what it's about - I just like the hook and the music.
As far as radio goes, I really used to like AM970, it was AP news w/ local cut-ins 24/7. Now it's ESPN radio which means there is now officially one
decent radio program left for me.
Rockstar 2 to 12 times per week. I recommend that you learn that movie word for word. Especially if you are a "music" person. There are so many music industry people either starring in or referenced in that movie it will make your head spin. And the soundtrack is outstanding. "STAND UP AND SHOOOOOOUUUUUUTT!!!"
I had a conversation in late April of this year that included the word "esoteric" to describe a movie and it made me think that I like a lot of movies that could be described with that word. These include titles such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Little Miss Sunshine, I Heart Huckabees, American Beauty and adaptation.
I also discovered recently that my whole life has been spent avoiding movies that are meant to cause an emotional reaction in the audience. If you're supposed to cry or feel bad - I don't want to see it. I like something to think about sometimes, but other than that I just want action or comedy. I'm a big fan of Will Ferrell as an actor and Kevin Smith as a filmmaker. I did recently get a copy of SuperFuzz (Super Snooper). This is an Italian/American film that was showed repeatedly on HBO when I was little. I have a copy of Ernest Borgnine's best work now. Thanks Chris.
I watch Family Guy all the time even though we have an extensive cable selection including On Demand programming and a Dual Tuner DVR. I try my hardest to watch my brother's team on ESPN2 when NHRA racing is on. Other than that there is Best Week Ever, The Soup, Entourage, Big Love, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, The Naked Brothers Band, ICarly, Top Chef, Iron Chef, Good Eats...for someone making an effort to lose weight I watch a lot of food on TV.
The last thing I read was the entire
Harry Potter series. I did it in about 3 weeks and it messed with my sleep patterns and made me dream funny and kept me awake. I loved them and I'm sorry they're over. I thought it ended well, anyway.
When I was younger I was all up on the Greek mythology and Epic poetry from Greece. When I finished ALL OF IT I continued on to Isaac Asimov's Sci-Fi futuristic Robot novels and Foundation series. I have also read all of those, and still have them.Literary classics that I have read and enjoyed include Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov (read in their original russian.....very slowly), The Great Gatsby, The Catcher In the Rye, Portnoy's Complaint......hmm...it has been a while since I gave myself the opportunity to enjoy a good classic book. Time to start again?
These days I've been reading industry related manuals about business and success and stuff. Yes, I really have.
My PARENTS have also always been two people who I REALLY look up to. For some reason every year they seem to get a little smarter yet they are saying the same things they've always said.
As for current events, all of our TROOPS who are still deployed for no real reason. They take a lot of shit and they are just doing their jobs. That's a tough situation.
