eating firstborn children, debating sports (especially nba talk), Bulls, Bears, White Sox, occasional soccer talk, making parallels between sports and the pop culture world, playing but not watching tennis, poker (haven't done that much lately though, it's the same ol' same ol' w/ poker), being a pirate (yar har fiddle dee dee), and some other hobbies I have yet to discover.
Your father's wife. And then your dog.
Oasis, 1900's, Spinto Band, Belle and Sebastian, Coldplay, The O.C. Mix's 1-6 (it's good dammit), Ted Leo and the Pharmacists... and others I'm sure I just don't recall right now. Oh yeah and the Lazytown soundtrack.
Okay there are a lot of movies to like. Leon, Waiting, LockStockandTwoSmokin'Barrels, UHF, Anchorman, For Love of the Game, Addicted to Love.... I'll add to this list later. I watch some documentaries too, Word Wars, Spellbound, Touching the Void, Peace One Day, etc.... But honestly I don't like movies that much compared to tv shows. With t.v. shows, you only have to block out a half hour to an hour of your night and if the mood strikes, watch another episode or three... very modular time requirements. But with movies, you have to make sure that your viewing time isn't interupted for AT LEAST an hour and a half until maybe three hours. Plus once you find a tv show you like, you can be entertained for tens of hours with season long dvd's. But with movies, you finally found that one movie you like and characters you love after sifting through hours of average movies (and there are a lot out there), and poof.... just two hours of storylines. Now moving on to more important things...
Ahhhh television. 24, House, The O.C., Laguna Beach, The Hills, Project Runway, Arrested Development, Newsradio (one of the most underwatched shows of the 90's), Futurama, Step by Step (CBS years), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dead Like Me, The Soup (Sorry Tennessee!), Joe Schmoe, Charles in Charge (IMO, best theme song of the 80's, better than the Cheers theme song) and others but I'm sure you've stopped reading by now.
Books I am reading or are in the process of reading: Smashed - Koren Zailckas (one of my favs, coming to a theater near you!); Now I Can Die in Peace - Bill Simmons (as the back cover says, "Best sports humorist of our generation"); Juiced - Jose Canseco (steroids); The Partly Cloudy Patriot - Sarah Vowell; Assassination Vacation - Sarah Vowell (snarky history lessons); Freakonomics - Some Guy; Game of Shadows - Wada and Williams (Barry Bonds book); The Road to Wealth - Suze Orman; Blood on the Horns - Ronald Lazenby (Bulls dynasty days); Tales from the Hardwood Floor - Bill Wennington (firsthand account of second Bulls dynasty from the backup center's POV)As for fiction: Well... not so much. Just your cliche Dan Brown books, Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code.
Not to get mushy or anything, but my younger siblings, my grandfather, and my mom and dad.
