All Fame is Fleeting..

About Me

I've been playing and writing for some time. There's something about the special intimate relationship that one has with a blank piece of paper that comes to life with feeling, love, words, and energy that transforms into a work of art and beauty. The flowing melody that comes next is like making love; pure magic. This may sound a bit cliché or sentimental, but ask anyone that writes. It mostly always comes from the heart, life... But then sometimes it's like being an archeologist, and you're really just a participant in the process.Since I've been on myspace I've met hundreds of musicians. Many are already signed artists. One has recording two of the songs that I've written. She is already signed. Both are on her recently released CD.I can write almost anything, for anyone. Networking with no limitations has allowed me to present my work to a diverse group of people.I will be released a new CD soon! You can also visit my music page to listen to all of my current (and future) music: http://myspace.com/nighttakesqueen

My Interests

Living and playing hard! Are there enough hours in the day for it all? I love to run, swim, bicycle, work out, tennis, ski, fast cars, and guitars.

I'd like to meet:

I love to meet anyone interesting. I genuinely love meeting new friends involved with music. The talent that abounds is very inspiring. I like meeting and working with people who endeavor to accomplish the seemingly impossible. Collaboration is the key element in all labors of love, give and take. My first love is music... I would like meeting others with similar interests. If you feel the same, let me know!

Music:

Music genuinely holds a secret, to know it can make you whole, it's not just a game of notes, but the song inside your soul..My influences are numerous, very eclectic. From Aerosmith to Vivaldi. All rock emerged from the blues of the 30's and the 40's. If you look at all musical roots and listen closely, you'll hear movements and themes that originate from many of the early classical pieces in hundreds of songs, pop, rock, country, you name it. I love the power of Wagner (Flight of the Valkyries) and the dynamics of Ravel's Bolero. Of course nothing can beat the energy of a ripping lead solo by any number of my guitar playing aficionados. But there is also delicate beauty that can only be found in a single voice accompanied by an acoustic guitar or piano to set you free..

Movies:

.. Create Your Own

Books:

Enough to fill a library. Too numerous to mention them all. From fiction to physics. 'The Singularity is Near' by Ray Kurzweil, and 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. This last one I read in two days. It's about following your heart; how life really is generous to those who follow their own Personal Legend. Just finished reading 'Four Blind Mice' 'The Eight', and 'The Collectors'.

Heroes:

All of the men and woman who serve our country in the Armed Forces. They deserve our ultimate respect and appreciation.

Songs Unsung

'Song Unsung' has many influences behind it; namely Zed Zeppelin, Filter, and Dave Navarro, but it's truly a Matthew Williams original. Let me know what you think! Cheers, Matthew

Cool silence..

One cannot write verse where din abounds; where words flutter and clash with sounds. In cool silence songs are born, in tranquility and peace rhymes take form. You must venture deep inside yourself to...

King for a day

King for a day.. Sometime ago I was sitting around thinking of names for bands. We all do this from time to time for fun (in my circles anyway) and one that came to mind was 'King for a day'. I never ...
