THE PORTRAIT OF A FUTURE LEGEND:
J. LYNNThis is a word that resonates very strongly with the MC known as
J. Lynn and the message that he is spreading. Growing up on the streets of East Baltimore , J. Lynn found out very early that writing was his gift, and also his calling. As a young boy being reared in a neighborhood that seemed filled with cliché options, he found it discouraging when most people spoke of his city, as if the drug trade, the high murder rates and deadly STD’s were the only things significant. Now as a grown man, he finds it interesting that there is a show on HBO that glorifies those things. J. Lynn hopes to use his music as a force for change, creating a refreshing voice in a Hip-Hop culture that is in dying need of a rebirth. From his proverbial symphony, Baltimore Pity, where he miserably and wearily pleads for change in a city living on a slow beating heart, to his new banger, Down for the C.O.$.T., where he boldly stakes his claims among the haters who have filled the seats of Hip-Hop for way too long., J. Lynn delivers a raw but honest portrait of everyday life for the common man and woman. As a founding member of The C.O.$.T. (The Circle of Success Team) entertainment, along with Jordan Ocean and T.C., J. Lynn is featured on the upcoming compilation album, Paused in Time (which also features future music legends Profitne$$, 810 the prodigy, songstress Rabiah and poet The Dean), and is a producer on the documentary of the same name. He is also working on a series of mixtapes to release in 2008, God Willing. J. Lynn, along with numerous other artists in the city, wants to bring back the days of telling sincere, mindful stories, using creativity and knowledge as a movement to reach the hearts and ears of anyone willing to listen. J. Lynn wants his name to resonate with generations to come, as he paints a visual landscape of life. And the legend begins.
