Errrrr.....

About Me

28 Year Old Manx Man who moved to the "Mainland" at the age of 12 to sunny old Fleetwood for schooling.Did that and got into Sheffield University after travelling around the world for six months.Promoted nightclubs - namely setting up Tuesday Club and Urban Gorilla with Mark Ross and Tom Schrieber - instead of working. This did have a somewhat negative impact on my academic studies. After graduation we set up Unique 3 - doing TTC and UG full time. And what a very mad, fun, completely insane, bonkers and brilliant three years that was. Took its toll mind...Left Sheffield to move to London. Now live and work here, with a lot of painful train journeys to Sheffield and back on a regular basis.Still very much love UG, DJ'ing and music, my mates and am loving London and am generally loving life more than i ever have done. For the moment, it's happy days.....

My Interests

Really nice black, fresh coffee. And really nice, fresh bread. Normally in the morning. There are other interests i'm sure, but at the moment, they seem to stick out.

I'd like to meet:

God. If he really exists.

Music:

Everything really....but still have a passionate love for trippy / groovy / dubby house, breaks and bits of less-than-hectic techno, that doesn't do a lot. Still love the big cheesy anthemic anthem however. Arcade Fire yep. Editors love 'em - more than ever , also dead excited about going to Prince soon. Rediscovering lots of dodgy 80's pop, Bowie - , U2, REM, The Cure, the New Shapes ...still rediscovering lots of stuff....playing catch up from a few years of dance music saturation

Movies:

Ok, for once i'm going to give this is a go: Star Wars . Tick. Indiana Jones . Tick. Goonies. Tick. Lost in Translation. Tick. Walk the Line. Tick. Human Traffic. Tick. Team America. Tick. Platoon. Tick. JFK. Tick. Schindlers List. Tick. Seven. Tick. And then it all gets a bit ticking boring, but there's lots more. ......blah blah.

Television:

Mighty Boosh, Spaced, Nighty Night, Question Time, Grand Designs, Shameless, Lost, 24 series 1 was amazing, still playing catch up, West Wing (from what i've seen) etc etc etc.

Books:

I think a good indication of my reading commitment is the current book i've opened. Peter Ackroyd's "London". Started with good intentions, am still reading it, but only having read 236 pages after opening it about 16 months ago. Good going James.

Heroes:

Any good sod, that's finds the best in people, in an otherwise slightly "clever" and cynical world. And it costs nowt. Bring it on. We like the "good shit".
