Dj Kevin James

About Me

Dj Kevin James came onto the Boston club scene during the early 90's as a youngster looking to be a hip-hop DJ. But as chance would have it he was introduced to house music by his cousin Skeeter and older brother Allan, who were at the time hanging out with a then unknown dj/producer Armand Van Helden. He found himself in love with this new music . Hypnotized by the deep mellodic sounds that he heard, and seeing the energy it created in people, made Kevin realize the road dance music could take him on. At the start of "95", he was given his first chance by local legend DJ Bruno to appear at the legendary "Loft" dance club in Boston. Soon after, he was given a residency alongside (DJ veteran and good friend) Tim Ryan at the "Axis" nite club.As DJ Kevin James grew as a dj/producer he started to look outside of Boston and DJ in Tokyo, Osaka New York and at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. In 2003 DJ Kevin James decieded to start his own label M-break recordings. His first single Glad Today sold well in London and Japan. As quoted by Micheal Fossati (founder of thespiritofhouse.com) the song was "lovely music for the mind, body, and soul" and "a very good first offering for an up and coming DJ/Producer."
