The Rumblist

About Me

Brought up on a childhood of learning classical and rock guitar, drums and keyboards, The Rumblist first delved into electronic music after hearing Autechre's Incunabula album. "I worked soul-destroying jobs to save for audio equipment so I could write my own electronic music, which is best described as a mix of musical theory and twisted electronics." says the beat mangling Rumblist. "I've always been fascinated with technology, sampling and making rhythms from everyday sounds and tend to explore this as a base for most of my music. I'm currently studying Music Technology in Canterbury and looking to do more live performance as well as working on more new material."The Rumblist makes his own brand of lightly fried homemade electronica that has been mildly influenced by the likes of Aphex Twin, Plaid, Arovane, Venetian Snares, Boards Of Canada and Autechre so it's no surprise that people who know his music generally say "sounds like it should be on Warp". Starting off at the tender age of 11 armed only with a Casio SK-1 and an acoustic guitar, he started creating making the best from what little he had. He's now armed with a desktop and laptop running Cubase SX, Emu 1616m audio interface, Clavia Nord Modular Rack (only the best synth i own!!), Behringer Eurorack 2642, Emu esi 4000, Roland r8m, Yamaha sy85, Yamaha dd-55 drum pads, art fx units, Sony Minidisc player, Sony mp3 player, Mr T keyring (!) and an AKG d320 microphone. Not only is he a multi skilled musician and studio producer he is now taking his sounds live and treating crowds to the world of The Rumblist. MyGen Profile Generator
