I grew up in Hebron Ct it's a small town with the most concentrated group of musicians I have ever seen..my friends the Columbia Field Boys also hail from Hebron lol... something in the water I guess and we were always skipping class and writing songs and probably doing things we shouldn't have but in a small town thats life hehe. Music and poetry and art ( I'm a painter too ) have always been the way I've expressed myself..I don't know what I would do without music. I wrote my first "real" song when I was 15 and I haven't stopped since. I used to write a lot with my brother, he has an amazing voice and we would write and sing and come up with harmonies and I also wrote with my friend Eric Heath who is now known as the the master pianist for Columbia Fields. It wasn't until recently that I experimented with the piano for myself which was a huge accomplishment for me and an awesome release. All I had was myself so I was like thats it I have to learn and I did lol. This is my very first solo debut cd and I am verrrrrry excited it has been a totally new direction for me..upbeat instead of depressing and emo-ish which I still love hehe. I was listening to a lot of the Cure when I wrote those old songs ha.Thank you to Kurt for challenging me to grow as a songwriter and artist and venture out from the darkside hehe. Some of my influences are Tori Amos, Cranberries, Natalie Merchant, Neil Young, Eva Cassidy and I love miss Lily Allen and A Fine Frenzy and so on and so on.
About me personally... I'm quirky and weird and can be shy and I really try not to take myself too seriously..I take my music seriously just not myself lol..and I laugh ALOT..well probably more info then you were banking on but thats it for now. Hope you love3 the cd ;) xo-Bek
