About Me

I live in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.... I have long-ish dark brown hair. I often have deep converstaions but sometimes just have mindless fun.Feel free to send me a message.I am a very tollerant and patient person I am told. Not sure what else to write about me. I try to be nice to everyone although it can be fun to wind some people up at times.I play guitar, keyboards and piano seriously. Guitar is my main instrument but I am still improving on all of themI did 'Access To Music Degree' course at Aberdeen College in 2005/2006. I am now back at Aberdeen College in Year 2 of Music Teaching Diploma. I would like to eventaully do a music degree at a specialist music college. If anyone wants to send me instant messages. I am hairyscarymark on yahoo and AIM and [email protected] on MSN

My Interests

I play guitar, piano and keyboards.SocialisingChatting on computer.Stuff listed on other parts of profile.

I'd like to meet:

Friends, Particularly those (but not exclusively) those I have something in common with in terms of interestsI sometimes find I get on with people who I don't share the same interested but 'click' for some reason.I get too many requests from bands currently and don't have time to listen to them all, sorry. I do what I can.I would also like to meet other musicians to collaborate with.

Music:

I like many types of music
My favourite rock bands change but at the time I wrote this they were; Dream Theater, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Iron Maiden,Other favourites inlude; In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Iron Maiden, Yes, Rush, Queensrÿche, Iced Earth, Dio, Seventh Wonder.I have also recently gained an interest in Folk Metal. Bands I like in this category include, Korpiklaani, Elvenking, Eluveitie. Turisas also have a folk side to their music and I like them.Favourite guitarists include; Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Mike Stern. One of my main ambitions in life is to become a virtuoso guitar player.Favourite composers include; J.S Bach, Handel, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, SibeliusI also listen to and try to play Jazz, both on guitar and piano.
My favourite fusion players include; Mike Sterm, Chick Corea, Frank Gambale, Al Dimeola and Allan Holdsworth.I like quite a variety of music but usually not what is played on mainstream radio. This does not make me any less open minded but is evidence that I have a genuine music taste rather than listening to the small range of music which is played on mainstream TV and raido. You can check out my page on Last fm (formerly Audio Scrobbler) to see what I have been listening to recently. (i posted this ages a go and no longer use it)Can't be bothered writing any more

Movies:

I don't watch very many but i am wililng to watch anything. Most films aimed at teenagers are completley pants....I did really like Lord of The Rings, The Wicker Man (original), Star Trek films, Fantasy adventure films except those based on supposedly real events like Braveheart (which is laughable), The Pianist, Enemy At The Gates, V for Vendetta, Brazil (I missed the beginning so have to see it again sometime), Goodnight and Goodluck, Canadian Bacon.

Television:

I don't watch much TV and when I do it is usually BBC or Channel 4 News or something else informative.I do like some strange comedy such as the leauge of gentlemen and monkey dust.I also am a science fiction fan. I particularly like Star Trek and Dr Who.I am also a bit fan of Neighbours, despite it being a cheesey Australian soap.

Books:

I don't read many and most of what I read is written by journalists.

Heroes:

guitar players as mentioned in music.
