Brian Dehler grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota making short films around the same time that he began writing and recording music. High School was consumed by VHS filmmaking, skateboarding, and a sloppy punk rock cover band. He later received a BA from UW-Madison where he studied film theory and sociology, all the while, experimenting with audio tape loops, 16mm, and linear vhs production. After graduation, he started up DV-Cinema, Inc., an indie video label hosting micro-film festival events by night and running as a video production company by day, providing services to Discovery Channel, Comedy Central, MTV, HGTV, PBS, and other networks with fancy names. He produced a documenatry - sleeprunners.com and then left the freelance world to work for the Walker Art Center as videographer / editor. A year later, he left the Walker to form Cine-O-Matic, a DVD authoring boutique producing DVD's for the feature film industry. On the side, he is working on a full length record and directing some artsy music videos.
