---**UNOFFICIAL DJ KRUSH PAGE**
**BRIEF BIO** Born Hideaki Ishii in 1962 in Tokyo, Japan. Ishii was a troubled teen and joined the Yakuza. Then one day in 1983, when he was out with his girlfriend to see a movie, he for some reason, seeking a change, saw a new movie called "Wild Style" by director Charlie Ahearn and it completely changed his life for good. The film, which follows a grafitti artist in New York City, features performances by some of the early MCs (Busy Bee, Double Trouble), DJs (Grandmaster Flash), and breakdancers (Rock Steady Crew). Some of these performers came to Japan to promote the film and performed in Tokyo department stores. Shortly thereafter, young Japanese took up breakdancing in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park, where street musicians gather every Sunday to perform. DJ Krush, now one of the leading world-class DJs, started out performing behind breakdancers in Yoyogi Park in the mid-1980s.
DJ's then soon became the most critical step in the development of Japanese Hip-Hop, and today defjam even has a venture over in japan to devolop and sign artists..
