About Me

I'm a choon GOD
Cassidy, a.k.a. Justin Caisse first realized the way music could make people move in the mid 1980’s break dancing in friend’s basements. He first got into dj’ing in 1987 at his own house party when he realized he didn’t like the music other people were playing. Over the next few years he developed a local dj business, spinning at high school dances & house parties, playing pop hits, underground hip hop and reggae. He fraternized with local club djs which allowed him into the clubs while still underage. In the late 80’s, he developed a deep interest in house music with tracks like Raze – Break 4 Love and A Guy Called Gerald’s ‘Voodoo Ray’. It was an easy transition from hip hop to house with tracks like Jungle Brothers – I’ll House You, and Twin Hype’s ‘Do it to the Crowd’.
When the ‘rave’ movement began, he religiously recorded the local radio shows that showcased the underground house, techno and hardcore scenes in the UK. Already being a dj, his local record dealer fed his appetite for all this new music by supplying all the upfront choons, thus beginning a colorful career in the underground dance music scene. His experience and love for music of any genre had opened his mind to the possibilities of layering of different records, blending of different styles, and the emotions one could generate throughout a dj set. His first ‘underground’ gig was at Toronto’s renowned ‘Opera House’, at an afterparty sometime, some Sunday afternoon for a handful of people. One of those people was a top promoter in the city, and promptly offered him a Sunday residence, and a peak-time slot at his Saturday night one-offs. After securing a number of residences for companies like E! The E!Ntertainment Network, Destiny Productions, Happy Face, Delicious Sundays, Euphoria, Sunshine Sundayz, Full Spectrum (London, Ont.), and Tribal Funk (London), and by 1994 found himself spinning sometimes 6 nights a week. He played at top clubs in and around Toronto like El Macombo, Guvernment, the Docks, Club NRG, Buzz (Comfort Zone), Envy, Limelight, Catch 22, the Maze, the Tunnel, 318 Richmond, and countless warehouse parties and raves. Cassidy has played alongside some top international and local talent, spinning house, trance, breaks, techno, and even drum & bass. (Something special is watching/ listening to his classic d&b sessions nowadays, complete with effects & scratching)
His sound over the years developed into the deep, layered, moving progressive house that he is known and loved for. In 1998 he took time off spinning to further his musical career by studying Recorded Music Production & Engineering. After 3 years of superior dedication and hard work, he emerged with a diploma from the top music program at London, Ontario’s Fanshawe College. He was the first dj to successfully finish the program.
Now, armed with the knowledge of the pros, and an arsenal of studio gear, Cassidy is prepared to unleash his unique creativity and unbelievable talent to the worldwide dance music collective, with remixes of Sasha – Wavy Gravy, Sunscreem – Luv U More, and multiple original productions, his sets and sounds are not to be missed, and can evoke emotions not yet dreamed of.
