As many clubbers know, England has a prominent place within the world of dance and clubbing, clubbing is a way of life and not just a statement. Laura de Haan a.k.a “Elegance’ spent 18 months, living in the UK, and it was there that she had the true encounter with the world of Dance.This encounter proved to have such a profound effect on her, this was the catalyst that drove her to purchase her first set of decks in September 2002. Totally focused and with a huge eager to educate herself she started mixing music. Her record box contains an extensive and diverse range of records from Downtempo, Deep-, Soulful House, US Garage and uplifting energetic grooves. Tunes that rock and play with your mood.Her sets include all of the above, but she is not afraid to drop some heavy percussion and electro tracks into her mix. She is constantly experimenting and searching for various types and styles, to create a distinctive and unique sound. Her trips to the Winter Music Conference in Miami in 2004 till 2008 exposed her even to a wider range of music and artists.“Elegance’s ” favourite labels at the moment are Buzzin Fly, Defected, Soul Heaven, Vega Records, SOLE channel Music, Z Records, King Street, Deep Haven and MN2S. One of her favourite tracks is “Always” by Lisa Shaw.Owing to her talent and groovy blend, promoters took note. She appeared in nightclub the iT and the Supperclub in Amsterdam and recently played at the Mysteryland Festival. So, it won’t be long before she is laying down tracks in a club near you.These days she is having a monthly residency in Markt15 in Schagen together with dj Robert (Soulboyz, Supaphunk Records). Her future plans, Focus on releasing the true DJ/Producer inside. Watch this spot!!
