The idea for the band was brought up in 2003 by Demsh (guitar/vocals) and Sushy (bass) . They soon met with another guitar player - Bush and started looking for a drummer. In january 2004 Penitenziagite was formed by adding Fertin on the drums. Later, Sushy joins Demsh on the vocals. In autumn 2004, Bush leaves the band due to personal reasons. They continue to play with only one guitar untill december, when Bojc joins the band to replace Bush on the guitar. With this formation, Penitenziagite record their demo, titled Penitenziagite - Demo and start considering some live performances, that were due to happen in summer 2005. But with the arrival of summer months, the band due to lack of interest looses their drummer and with him, the place to rehearse in. Fertin is replaced by Gapi on the drumms, but they continue to search for a place to rehearse in. They finally find one in october 2005 in and old industrial complex of Kranj. With the arrival of the new drummer, they changed their technique a bit, so they leave the old songs behind and start writting new ones. In spring 2006, they start with the gigs all around Slovenia. In winter they have to move again, this time to MKC Medvode, where they still rehearse. In the late 2007 Sushy decides to leave the band due to lack of time. This leaves Penitenziagite without a bassist and a singer. The replacement is not official yet, but will be as soon as possible.
