The Waiting Ends was formed in the summer of 2006. Luke(vocals) and JJ(guitar) had been in a previous band called Brit Am. While being in Brit Am was fun they both always had the desire for something heavier. A band with a style more brutal, melodic, and more focused on their beliefs. Stephen(vocals) came along and fueled the idea to get together a band that goes along those lines and shortly after The Waiting Ends was formed. David(drums) was an old friends of Stephen. He joined after just a phone call. Our first rhythm guitar player ended up not working out and shortly after that Mikey(guitar) joined. We struggled for a while to find a solid and committed bass player. They just recently added Carlos(bass).
With influences such as Haste the Day, As I Lay Dying, It Dies Today, and Mortal Treason, The Waiting Ends started to develop a style of their own that includes brutal breakdowns, gang vocals, a variety of screams, clean vocals, blast beats, 2-steps, double bass, stomp and swings, catchy and insane guitar riffs, and originality. All that mixed in with an intense passion put into their lyrics makes for a powerful and rising band.
Shortly after being formed in 2006 the band started to play shows in Reno. Since then they have played with a number of bands including local favorites Dorcia, What's Worse, xBarcadiax, and xAFBx. They have also booked and played with A Plea for Purging, and xLooking Forwardx. Shows like these have helped The Waiting Ends make a name for themselves locally. They have not been able to tour yet due to lack of transportation but they have played some out of town shows including Kings Beach in Lake Tahoe, a huge show in Modesto at the Underground and a sweet church in Stagecoach. The members of The Waiting Ends have made some huge sacrifices in order to be in the band and they do not plan ..ping any time soon. Once they have a van and a trailer they are looking to start touring and making a name for themselves along the west coast and then where ever God calls them to go from there.
The Waiting Ends?...In life everyone is always waiting for something.
Whether it be a movie to come out, the weekend, or whatever else.
There is however, one common thing everyone is always waiting for.
Purpose, meaning, the feeling of being loved, becoming a whole human.
For some people The Waiting for that ends but most go through their whole lives
waiting for that and never see it all while it was right in front of them.
Why are we called The Waiting Ends? Because we want to be a reminder.
We desire to bring that message to people. That the waiting for a meaningful life filled
with purpose can end. That by the blood of the LORD Jesus Christ on the cross
we can have peace with the true God and experiance life the way God planned it.
Through Christ's death we can be set free from the bondage of sin that controls us.
We can be made whole and right. We can know we are loved. We can know our
purpose given to us by the same God who created us and then shed his blood for us.
You guys, The Waiting can end today. Turn to Christ before it is too late. God Bless you all.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles
himself will be exalted. Luke 18:14.
This is what we strive to be. We desire to always stay humble knowing that we can do
nothing apart from God. Knowing that he has blessed us with the talent that we
have and we desire to use what he has blessed us with for his glory.
