I am what you might call a traditional skinhead, which doesn't really mean much to people in Holland where there isn't much skinhead culture apart from stupid nazi kids. Through my involvement in skinhead culture in the UK and beyond I have travelled widely, and met many diverse people from different walks of life and ethnicities who feel a connection with 'skinhead'. I still love listening to 1960s Jamaican ska and Soul, as well as 70s/80s punk rock and 2Tone. More than this its a way of life: dressing smartly, working hard, and thinking independently whilst not caring what others think.I am also interested right now in popular culture from the 1930s and 40s, and finding out what life was like in my grandparents youth, because we are always told there was nothing before Elvis and the Beatles. Not so :)
