I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

After spending the past 3 1/2 years trying to decide just what the heck I want to DO with the next 25(or so) years of my life I have reached this conclusion: I am here to serve a greater purpose than to simply take up space - be it Myspace, YourSpace or AnySpace! I have already taken a first step (with my first BS degree) and am now taking a second step - returning to school in pursuit of a second degree. My plan is to integrate the knowledge, skills and abilities that I have acquired during the past 25 years in health care with the knowledge, skills and abilities I will acquire as an interior designer.I am most grateful for having learned that it IS better to give than receive., and have found that I am happiest when involved in a project that improves the life or lives of others. Oh wait! I almost forgot...happiness is also found on the receiving end of a foot massage! I would have to say that my overall purpose in life is to learn, laugh, love, live...to leave this world a little better than the way it was when I came into it...AND tour as many Frank Lloyd Wright homes - and other architectural wonders - as my life schedule will allow!

My Interests

PEOPLE! ALL people, from ALL over! I love meeting new people, either in-person or in-ternet. I enjoy hearing about other's 'life' stories...OTHER'S interests, likes, dislikes, goals, achievements. It inspires me to see/hear how other people 'create their own reality'.Good food also interests me...Mexican, BBQ, Spaghetti, Ben and Jerry's Phish Food, Frozen Margaritas, Apple Martini, Homemade Vegetable Soup/Chili/Stew....and of course, beans and cornbread, biscuits and gravy...it doesn't get any better than that!General interests include: Spirituality, music, interior design, architecture, especially Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, photography, Photoshop, reading, interior design, sightseeing, flea market and antique shopping, cooking, the beach, scenic drives through the mountains in the fall, hiking, bicycling, working out at local fitness center, oh yeah, did I mention interior design!!!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is concerned with improving themselves as well as the world around them. Also, anyone interested in art, design, photography and architecture.Oh yeah...and anyone interested in teaching me how to fly a plane would rate very HIGH on my friendship list! People who become and remain my friend, are those who allow me....to be me.

Music:

My interests here are so varied...anyway, here goes: Enya, Enigma, Lifehouse, Alison Krause, Journey, Pink Floyd, Bill Douglas, Peter Gabriel, David Arkenstone, Dido, Nickleback, Howie Day, Sting, U2, Green Day, Chris Botti, Beetles, Chris Isaac, David Lantz, Otmar Liebert, Simon and Garfunkel, Patrick O'Hearn, Manneheim Steamroller, Coldplay...to name a few.

Movies:

I prefer a good comedy, especially with Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Bill Murry...and movies that have an unexpected twist or ending.

Television:

CSI-Miami, Numbers, The Office, 2 1/2 Men, The Daily Show, Real Time w/ Bill Mahr, NCIS, Trading Spaces, Food Network, HGTV, The History Channel, David Letterman (Leno when Letterman is a re-run).

Books:

Now that I have decided to return to school, most of the reading I do has to do with Interior Design and Graphic Design such as Photoshop, Auto CAD, Chief Architect and 3D max. However, reading has been a main weakness of mine...I CANNOT turn away from a good book! I read some, from at least one of the following, every day: ACIM (A Course In Miracles), Advaita and Ken Wilber - A Brief History of Everything. Other interests include anything related to spirituality such as disappearance of the Universe, all workd by Deepak Chopra, Echert Tolle, Don Miguel Ruiz - The Four Agreements is my favorite. Quantum physics is another interest of mine and I enjoy reading works by Brian Greene and Stephen Hawking. Actually, I'll read most anything that helps me to better understand myself and gives insight regarding how I can find and fulfill my purpose in life.

Heroes:

We are all heroes...those of us who have chosen to live our lives at this moment in time...who face and live through the challenges life presents. Those who choose the attitude of looking at life as a learning experience. Then are willing to use that knowledge to not only improve themselves but to affect a positive change in others and the world around them.
