Misfortune comes from one's mouth and ruins one, but fortune comes from one's heart and makes one wo

About Me

One can usually find me exploring the Alps on my sturdy skis with my travel insurance document firmly secured in my jacket pouch, singing in a variety of karaoke bars in Georgetown, exploring South Americas eye catching landscapes, dancing in the middle of a club/wine bar or for what I'm more renowned for, telling someone their fortune (for free of course)!!

At present, my work involves tasting the most exquisite rums from all over the world. This highly specialised role, involves alot of concentration, good reflex action and patients but hey, someone has to do it and by golly gosh, its gotta be me!!

Would you like to know more? Well, are you sitting comfortably? Is that a yes? Okay, let's start at the very beginning...
My adventure on Planet Earth began many years ago and as soon as I was blessed with a name and given a glorious welcome by my family, I was introduced to the world of music.

Calypso taught me how to tell stories in an amusing and attention grabbing way and then, I was introduced to Soca and Chutney , where I learnt to rotate my waist at countless weddings, christenings and Notting Hill carnivals. R n B educated me about the trials and tribulations of love (never knew all those things could happen in a short space of time - especially within 3 minutes) and finally, the sweet lyrics of lovers rock helped me to excel my vocal talents but only within the confines of my bathroom!

I woke up one day thinking, yes, it's my turn to become a famous musician. So I set about learning to play the recorder, clarinet and piano and eventually performed in front my school but they always had some sort of cotton wool hanging from their ears. Up to this day, I dont know why. I then became distracted by Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD and Ralph Tresvant and (whispers) Bobby Brown, so my instruments started to gather dust. Yes, I was one of those little girls, who desperately wanted to look like Roxanne Shante and eventually become Mrs Tresvant but alas, he never found me and I looked more like a rug rat, as the huge gold earrings damaged my ears and my hair was too thick to withhold the curls!

My journey never stopped there, as I was exposed to the warm temperatures and beautiful scenery of Guyana, South America . There I learnt to fish for food, cook, scrub the back stairs, cuss bad words, drink High Wine and Banko , lime at the sea wall, bathe when there's a black out, play dominoes and most importantly, truly appreciate my wonderful heritage and ancestors.

Life has its good and bad points but without them, how can we laugh, love, cry and appreciate true happiness when its staring us in the face, so I will be writing a blog (now and again, as one has to have a life sometimes) about my experiences and hopefully, this will bring a bit of sunshine in your world.
