Situated in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the Old Brown Jug pub, since being taken over in 1999 by Nigel & Louise Woolliscroft, is renowned for its high quality ales, welcoming atmosphere and its effort in showcasing top quality live music & entertainment every week. Oh and not forgetting our home-made pickled eggs!
Wednesday night is now Indie Night! Live indie bands and live DJs ([WEPLAY] Joe & Tom Wood) playing the very best in indie rock'n'roll and dance music all night long ! Free entry and a 1am bar... Newcastle's main attraction on a Wednesday night, now at the Jug.
Sunday night is our second live music night of the week. Expect a wide range of bands ranging from Blues, Folk, Country and Rock 'N Roll. All Sunday shows are FREE, with the exception of SPECIAL SHOWS where more than the usual one band plays.
Also on a Sunday, during the day, is the chance for all you Traditional Jazz fans to enjoy some free local talent from Lunchtime, every Sunday!
SALSA at the Jug is our exciting new entertainment night which sees a Live Salsa Band perform and gives you the chance to join in too! Accompanying the band is a dance instructor who, later on in the evening, gives a FREE DANCE LESSON to those wishing to take part on the dancefloor. Free snacks and such will be available on the night to get everyone in the SALSA spirit!
This occurs on the last Wednesday of every month, every other Wednesday is Indie Night
Normal drinking nights are on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

Please note, these times are opening time and last orders, we close half an hour after last orders (e.g. Saturday Night, 1:30am.)
Fresh sandwiches now available all day, every day at the Old Brown Jug, delivered daily from a local caterer.
