About Me

I am a Lighting Designer, Stagehand, General theatre technician. I recently Graduated with a degree in theatre but am leaving America and moving to China to teach english for an IT Outsourcing company. I so excited to finally be able to see different parts of the world and learn more about other cultures as well as my self. Not to mention meeting amazing people from all over the world. The best thing to do during a sunset is go up to Horsetooth Reservoir find a nice rock looking west over the water and hang out and watch the sun go down in complete silence... so very, very cool. I'm comfortable with who I am and enjoy surrounding myself with people who love themselves as well. A friend of mine always says, "Your First and Last love in life; is self-love". Out of loving yourself everything else grows. Of course if you follow Buddhist teachings the next step is to realize there is no independently arising, inherently existent self... which I dig as well. lolThe more I know about how other people think the more I question how I think, and the more I learn about myself. I love intense conversations about personal motivations because, often times, you only look at your-self critically, in a different way then usual, when someone challenges you."A serious theatre, mine. It demands the complete participation of the moral-human entity. It is certainly not a comfortable theatre. A difficult theatre, a dangerous theatre. Nietzsche said that the Greeks put up white statues against the black abyss, in order to hide it. I, instead, topple them in order to reveal it . . . . It is the tragedy of the modern spirit."-Luigi Pirandello"The realists limit art to the pure and simple imitation of nature. They make no pretense at saying anything; they wish to portray exactly what nature is. It follows that the masterpiece of masterpieces will be the image reflected by a mirror. But why repeat in a human and lesser voice what nature says in her powerful one? Can one perhaps succeed in taking from nature the sun, its warmth, the perpetual mobility of its successive aspects? To copy nature is impossible. Yes, one should study her and follow her, considering her as the greatest and most prolific teacher. Art is nature itself, but proceeding along its own lines in the human spirit. And it is from this resemblance that the artist's love of nature derives: he recognizes himself in her, and in contact with her he assumes consciousness of his own talent."Luigi Pirandello"Art is the living idea, the idea that, in becoming the center of the interior life, creates the body of images in which it clothes itself. The idea is nothing without the form, but what is form without the idea, if the idea is what creates it? No formulas, then, for art. Whoever desires to create beauty by a formula deludes himself. Beauty can derive from anything except premeditated reasoning. Since, above all, the artist must be moved, out of his being moved the work of art will be born?Luigi Pirandello
