Roebin de Freitas, part of a young and vibrant belgian electronic music scene, has followed a prosperous path in his young career. After joining the Polarise agency, a breeding place for talented artists who carry each their own unique vision on the electronic music scene. Roebin has been picked up by major players within the local scene like Kozzmozz, the famous Fuse club and a string of dates at the Decadance club. Roebin has passed the border a couple of times and it goes without saying this young chap has already impressed many...
Roebin de Freitas' style could best be described as dubby, mnml, melodic and gritty. Always looking for a deep, sensual and introvert sound whilst being heavily influenced by the relationship between Detroit and Berlin. For him, institutes like the M-series, Studio 1, DBX and Juan Atkins are never forgotten. On the other hand, Roebin is sensitive towards new and upcoming artists whoms material are tools for him to carry out his message. It's all about something old, something new, something borrowed, something moody blue.
On the productional front Roebin emerges on the vinyl and netlabel circuit with releases under the prolific Curle label and belgian netlabel Sonderfall. With a few sideprojects in the pipeline, expect to see more in the near future.
Now two years further down the road, and a few releases under his belt, the future looks pretty promising for young Roebin. Be sure to keep an eye and an ear open.
