Cooking (I'm a bit of a health nut, but not in the usual "tofu & tempeh" way), writing stories, riding my mountain bike (although usually not on an actual mountain ... I don't get to do that nearly often enough), hitting the gym to POMP EYE-UHN, hanging out with whichever of my friends aren't being lame at the moment, or wasting away the minutes of my life playing a computer game or, more recently, writing all that you see here.
I'd like to meet:
Smart, weird people with dry, quick senses of humor, who don't take life or themselves too seriously, and who think "growing up" is totally overrated. And -- this is important -- who have some basic grasp of reality, and don't dwell solely in their own little version of it. And if you're a habitual flake, save yourself from a scathing diatribe by not contacting me. One last exclusion: I'm not big on "pen pals." If you're one of those professional myspacers who just want thousands of "friends" to fill up your comment space, while never actually getting to know any of them (let alone meeting them) ... then please, don't try to strike up a conversation.
Music:
Odd tastes here: in addition to your normal radio "alternative" stuff, I listen to a lot of techno and trance, and movie soundtracks.
Movies:
I like typical "guy movies," but only ones with tight, well-crafted plots and at least some intelligence. The Terminator (and its sequel.... James Cameron is A FILM GOD), The Matrix trilogy, although they got sequentially worse, Die Hard ... there are others, of course. Here's a tidbit: half of the DVDs I own are Japanese cartoons.
Television:
This one's easy: Heroes, Day Break, 24, Prison Break, Lost, Scrubs, The Simspons, Family Guy. That's about it; there were others, but they got canceled. I will ... not ... ever be caught watching "reality" TV. Death is too good for network TV executives.....
Books:
Currently reading a few by Neil Gaiman. I love those Brit authors, I do. I'm a big Michael Crichton fan too, and more recently, Dan Brown, and less recently, William Gibson.
