About Me

Yeah, okay, so I'm 42. So what.
Some facts:
Yeah, I'm that guy from the radio.
I've been on the radio since 1984.
I've been to waaaay too many concerts.
I still go to waaaaay too many concerts.
Mostly in dark, hole-in-the-wall clubs.
Sometimes in larger venues.
Sometimes in theaters. Or theatres.
Sometimes outdoors.
I drive everywhere.
I've had many music industry jobs.
I've had many non-music industry jobs.
I eat what I want.
I drink a lot. Of soda.
I can eat a lot of pistacios in one sitting.
I really do know almost all of my “MySpace Friends.” Personally.
I am quite smitten with one of them.
I listen to music all the time.
I'm listening to music right now.
I have more albums and CDs piled up all over my parents' house and my apartment than I'll ever – EVER – be able to listen to. Even if I did nothing – NOTHING – else for the rest of my life.
I still call them albums.
I still wear flannel. I like flannel.
I used to take a lot of pictures.
I take much fewer nowadays.
I am not religious.
I have one brother. He has 3 kids.
Look at my pictures page, they're there.
I know the difference between they're, their, and there.
I'm single.
I usually like it that way. Usually. Not always.
Except for my 4 years of college, I have never lived outside of New Jersey.
You gotta problem wit dat?
I have nothing tattooed. Or pierced.
I'm not tall.
I'm not thin.
I like sports. Watching mostly, participating sometimes.
I really really really like The Simpsons.
Real life always comes back to The Simpsons.
Or random song lyrics.
I quote them all the time. The Simpsons and songs. Sometimes Simpsons songs.
I love my PT Cruiser.
I love my family.
I love my job.
In general, I don't like people. Especially stupid people.
I seem to identify a bit too much with John Cusack movies.
That's all I can think of right now.
More another time...maybe....
Oh, I like to use ellipses.

My Interests

Lessee....MUSIC, in a big way. I don't play any instruments or sing, but I have done pretty much all you can do in the music industry without playing/singing. I have a voracious appetite for live music and records/CDs. I like SPORTS as well. Don't play any myself, but I enjoy watching just about all of them. And if a so-called sport is, in reality, not a sport, I'll say so. To see a ridiculously long concert calendar and a whole lotta pictures go to my "real" website at RaspeRadio

I'd like to meet:

Over the years, I've met a lot of my all time favorite songwriters, singers, and bands. It's one of the great perks of doing the job that I do.
Ultimately I'd like to meet the girl of my dreams. Will I meet her on MySpace? Ya never know. What am I looking for? I guess I'm not really sure since I haven't found her yet. Or, maybe I do know and that's why I haven't found her yet. Who knows. A couple of times over the years I thought I'd found her, but, boy, was I horribly mistaken. Preferences would include someone that likes good music. By that I mean someone who listens to good songwriters, good pop, indie, Brit, folk, soul, emo, alt.country, rock, alt...stuff like that. If you like non-commercial radio you're on the right track. Someone that does NOT listen to the Top 40, most pop, most hip-hop, crossover country, club music, and the like. Someone that wouldn't mind hanging out in the aforementioned dark, hole-in-the-wall clubs. Someone that I find attractive. Someone who prefers dogs over cats. Someone who doesn't have a horrible relationship with her family. Someone who is politically to the left. Someone who likes The Simpsons. Someone that lives not too far from me. Someone who is not a religious fanatic. Someone who is not a psycho, alcoholic, drug addict. Yeah, that would be nice...

Music:

Way way way too many fave bands/artists to mention..... Alternative, singer/songwriters, Brit, indie, underground, classic, ... the list goes on. And on.

Movies:

Some faves are High Fidelity, The Simpsons Movie, Dr Stangelove, Rude Boy, Gregory's Girl, Local Hero, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Willy Wonka, So I Married An Axe Murderer, the Austin Powers movies, the Pink Panther movies, Singles, Once, V For Vendetta, In The Name Of The Father, Crazy/Beautiful, Saved, Reality Bites, Spinal Tap, Commitments, Say Anything, Serendipity, About A Boy, Must Love Dogs, The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen, Office Space, Dodgeball, 40 Year Old Virgin, The Full Monty, PCU and many many more.

Television:

Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, King Of The Hill (sensing a theme), Globe Trekker, Myth Busters, Scientific American Frontiers, NUMB3RS, Scrubs, History Detectives, Dirty Jobs, Formula 1, sports, [and the dearly departed or soon to depart] Alias, Ed, Uncle Floyd, Young Ones, Freaks & Geeks, Wonderfalls, Love Monkey, Undeclared... (Why are all my favorite shows cancelled?)

Books:

"Our story begins, as these stories often do, with a young up-and-coming politician. He's a deeply religious man and a member of the conservative party. He's completely single-minded and has no regard for the political process. The more power he attains, the more obvious his zealotry and the more aggressive his supporters become. Eventually, his party launches a special project in the name of national security. At first, it's believed to be a search for biological weapons and is pursued without regard to its cost. However, the true goal of this project is power; complete and total hegemonic domination. The project, however, ends violently. But the efforts of those involved are not in vain, for a new ability to wage war is born from the blood of the victims. Imagine a virus, the most terrifying virus you can, and then imagine that you and you alone have the cure. But if the ultimate goal is power, how best to use such a weapon? Well, it's at this point in our story that along comes a spider. Here is a man seemingly without a conscience for whom the ends always justify the means, and it is he who suggests that their target should not be an enemy of the country, but rather the country itself. Three targets are chosen to maximize the effect of the attack: a school, a tube station, and a water treatment plant. Several hundred die within the first few weeks. Fueled by the media, fear and panic spread quickly, fracturing and dividing the country until at last the true goal comes into view. Before the St. Mary's crisis, no one would have predicted the results of the election that year, no one. And not long after the election, lo and behold, a miracle. Some believed it was the work of God Himself, but it was a pharmaceutical company controlled by certain party members that made them all obscenely rich. A year later, several extremists are trialed, found guilty and executed while a memorial is built to canonize their victims. But the end result, the true genius of the plan, was the fear. Fear became the ultimate tool of this government, and through it our politician was ultimately appointed to the newly created position of High Chancellor. The rest, as they say, is history." ~V For Vendetta
