About Me

About: The irrepressible Mads Langer, 23 years old, is considered by many international music critics to be the next big breakout star from Denmark. He recently released his debut album titled, Attention Please, on the übercredible indie Copenhagen Records and its already receiving rave reviews. The talented Dane is already in the A&R spotlight with majors in Europe and the East Coast already in discussion with Copenhagen records about potential signing/licensing deals. Langers live performances are noted for leaving many in the audience in awe of his commanding performance and singing abilities. Langer is undoubtedly an artist on the brink of breaking into the global marketplace and his strength as a live performer will continue to help him build worldwide industry appeal and fans alike.
He is already garnering import radio support in the US, for his single, "Breaking News," (from the debut album Attention Please) on WKQX "Q101" Chicago, KTCL Denver, KDLD "Indie 1031" Los Angeles, KATT, Oklahoma City and numerous others. Influential BBC Radio 1 UK DJ Mike Davies describes Langer as a chilledout version of Radiohead and Muse. Langer is currently available for signing and licensing worldwide (minus Scandinavia). A&R, publishing, booking, film/TV music supervisors, online media, radio and press who'd like to get in touch - contact Jakob Sørensen from Copenhagen Records at [email protected].
Background: Mads was smitten by the music bug before he could take his first step. A piano adorned his childhood home in a tiny town, far to the west of the big city. But it wasn't just the ebony & ivory of the decor that fascinated him, there was also his fathers vast record collection that lured Mads like a siren well before he took his first shaky step.
”I knew from the start that music would be a vital element in my life, so it was a culmination of many years of toil when my first single hit the airwaves,” says Mads, referring to the single ”Breaking News.” The song jumped right into the bellwether radio station P3's ”Hit of the Week” rotation.
Dedication to music drove Mads to pack his bags, right after finishing secondary school, and head to the big city, Copenhagen. When he arrived, Mads discovered a progressive vibe that started a flood of creative juices. In a spiritual duet with his growing audience, it became evident that notes and chords had become more than simply a means of making a living.
”I live and breathe for music. It's the navigational instrument I use to make my way through life,” he says. ”A minute doesn't go by, not even a second, without a stream of new musical ideas or familiar phrases running through my head. My songs spring from that source.”
About the role he has chosen for himself within the social environment of modern times, Mads says:
”If I had lived in the faraway past, I would surely have been a wandering troubadour who braved the highways and byways of the realm, telling tales through my songs, about the breezes and the storms, and singing heartfelt love songs to the beautiful noble ladies in their unreachable towers. In a way, I live my life like a modern troubadour. I face the world with an open mind, guided by inspiration telling me whether to go left, right or straight ahead. Where it leads, time will tell. There are countless stories to tell, and I want to tell some of them through my music.”
You can buy the album - "Attention Please" at iTunes Music Store.

Sounds Like: The critics say:
DJ Mike Davies - BBC Radio 1 UK: "...He's a chilledout version of Radiohead and Muse"

Martin Ashplant - www.inthenews.co.uk: "His debut album was released in Denmark in March, but there is every chance this young man can go much farther than Scandinavia. Soulful and wistful and with Muse-like vocals that can tug, Langer, despite appearing to be barely old enough to smoke on his album inlay, has a chance to take the world by storm. "

Pär Winberg - www.melodic.net: "...He is somewhere in a cool mixture of Coldplay, Saybia, Carpark North, Matthew Good, Tommy Henriksen, Jeff Buckley and Stereophonics. Hard to explain because - and that is also a good thing - the man sits on an own sort of style in this mish mash of styles."
