***Hello. It's been a while since I've updated my profile. Anyway.. I am sorry to say that I cannot be able to comment or message anyone back anytime soon. -It is true, My wife and I are expecting our third child! :]
-Well to start off with, my name is Matthew Todd Lauer.
-I was born in December 30, 1957 in New York City.
-"My dad was Jewish. My mom is not. So I was not raised anything. I do feel a desire now to find something spiritual. Getting married and wanting to have kids has something to do with that." That was a true quote I have said, and I still apply to it.
-I attended Ohio University and graduated in the Class of 1979. In 1997, I received my degree from Ohio University. They awarded my remaining credits by counting my journalism experience as an "independent study."
-My first marriage was to Nancy Alspaugh, but, unfortunately, it did not work out. In the late 80's, early 90's I started dating Kristen Gesswein, that too did not work out.
-In 1997, I met Annette Roque and we got married a year later. We have two children, our son, Jack Matthew, and daughter, Romy.
-I started my television career in 1979 as a producer of the noon news for WOWK in Huntington, West Virginia. Around 1980, I started working live on the air.
-I was host of PM Magazine and worked for ESPN in the mid 80's.
-I got a job in the New York area for WNBC-TV in the early 90's. I was a co-anchor for Today in New York and Life at Five.
-I also filled in as the newsreader on The Today Show for Margaret Larson in the early 90's.
-In 1994, I joined The Today Show full-time as news anchor. I have also filled in for some newscasters as the co-host of Weekend Today and NBC News at Sunrise.
-I have also filled in for Tom Brokaw on NBC Nightly News as well as hosting some programs on the Discovery Channel.
-While on The Today Show, I have had lots of laughs, and good times with Katie, Al, and Ann. I have also been to almost every single major landmark in the world, while hosting "Where in the World is Matt Lauer," from the Great Wall of China to the Panama Canal.
-I have had really good interviews... and some bad ones. As you can recall, with my infamous interview with Thomas Cruise. Apparently... he thinks hes smarter than me. I think NOT. :]
-I also will be intending to stay with The Today Show until 2011, and I have starred as myself in a live episode of Will & Grace. That was VERY fun! :]
