I'm an ambitious person with goals, I have an outgoing personality, care a lot for people, always respect people, very forgiven, God is my priority in my life, and I love to have fun when time permits. I've recently have tried to spend more time with my friends, family and enjoy life. I come from a large family, 9 silbings, I'm second to the youngest, I have a lil sis(Margarita). God and my parents, may they rest in peace, are my driving force behind my mission of creating good positive/clean hip-hop/rap/pop music-targeting the youth. My definitions of positive/clean hip-hop/rap music: (It's a form of Art that brings people together of all ethnicities; Art that creates social change for the bettering of all people; Art that doesn't degrade or disrespect people, especially women; Art that doesn't glamorize violence, drugs, sex, etc..; Art that can and will make a positive impact in lives of our youth; Art that doesn't promote to young man that you have to be hard to survive or be a man; Art that doesn't imply that kindness defines weakness; And Art that has a purpose in our life time and generations to come.)I have no kids. Maybe someday God will bless me with some, but for now & forever Baby Jay is like my son/little brother I've never had. Some of you may remember me as a singer for Houston's first Latin pop/freestyle/R&B group "PHAZE 3", which started in 1996 and ended in 2003. This summer 2007, will be 11 years experience in the music business; 7 years as a singer/songwriter/ performer/managing partner for "PHAZE 3". During my professional career with PHAZE 3, I was A&R/songwriter/producer for Cruces Record's first artist, Maria Cantu. I also continued my education in physical therapy and in the music business. I received the opportunity to Intern. for Beyonce's/Destiny's Child management/label and than I transitioned into my artists management/indie label and officially launched, Roland Entertainment in Spring of 2004 with emphasizes of developing and managing good clean/positive hip-hop/rap artists! For the past 3 years Teen hip-hop/rapping sensation Baby Jay has been creating a new movement and impacting the lives of thousands of youth and even adults through out the country! This hasn't been an easy task to take on the initiative and risk of developing one of the first positive/clean hip-hop/rap artists(Baby Jay) in (today's) mainstream music industry. But when you've realize your purpose in life and when it comes from the heart, nothing can stop you. The goal was to take hip-hop back to its grassroots, when artists like Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow, Will Smith, Kid N Play, Criss Cross, Run DMC, KRS One, Doug E. Fresh and others where making a difference with their music and rap music was about social change-not about violence, drugs, sex, etc... Much love and respect to all hip-hop/rap artists, but it's time for some change. We have the power to make a positive difference in our world with hip-hop/rap music. In 3 short years, Baby Jay has made a huge positive difference with his music and new signed hip-hop artist, Kolor Blynde, is sure to make a everlasting impression with his unique sound and style! By a few, I've been called one of the modern pioneers of positive/clean hip-hop/rap music, which is an honor. Special thanks to Lui, Ike, David, Kolor Blynde and Baby Jay for being apart of history in the making and for believing in my vision from day 1. And it's with great honor that you all are apart of it! It surely has been a team effort to get to where we are today. God has plan for us, larger than I can imagine. I've co-written songs for Baby Jay's debut album "Keepin it Real" and David Enriquez. I feel like the music business side is my calling to be able to educate and further the careers of local talented artists, but I've recently have realized once you're a singer that part of you never dies, even if you try to move on to something different in the music business. On that note, I have decided to come back as singer/songwriter with my first solo debut single to be released in the Summer of 2008. I will continue my role also as CEO/founder of Roland Entertainment and managing the careers of my artists.
