Coffee, my sweetheart, and the underlying reality of the universe.
I am primarily a man of Ska and Reggae, such as the Bad Manners, Skatalites, Prince Buster, Jimmy Cliff, Selecter, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Toots and the Maytals, Slackers, Madness, Specials, Toasters, Spider Nick and the Maddogs, Desmond Dekker. Many other genres are nice, but I'll go by naming individual cool folk, like George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone, Clash, Rancid, New York Dolls, Lou Reed, Violent Femmes, Rahzel, Public Enemy, other rap my brother sends me, Strauss (multiple generations), the classic rock stars that I shouldn't need to mention, the Weezer, David Bowie, Mongolian throat singing, Harry Belafonte, Iggy Pop and the Stooges... a bunch more, but really, you don't want to read lists.
Rocky Horror Picture Show, representin the NYC Cast. Other movies can be cool, but just are not quite Rocky. Favorites also include Disney's Jungle Book, Robin Hood, and Little Mermaid. Big people movies are also cool, like the What's New Pussycat?, What's Up Tigerlily?, Montis Pythonis Operi, Hero, Gandhi, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... things with lots of crime... lots more, but I don't bother to remember movies, they don't matter as much as music. Also, the Noise Brigade DVD.
The proper use of a television is to play Nintendo.
The Iliad, Diary of a Drug Fiend, Life of Milarepa, Life of Naropa, Life of Marpa, Dao De Jing, the comedies of Aristophanes, Lolita, the Enneads of Plotinus, the Silmarillian, Alice in Wonderland, Jungle Book, the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, some more. But these are pretty choice ones. They're the ones your ass should read.
Achilles, Batman, Richard Feynman and Dave Rose. Maybe Feynman is overated though.
