THE STORY
When ivo arrived in the USA four years ago with the intention of broadening his musical horizon he landed straight in the arms of top producer Neil Dorfsman who has worked with greats like Sting, Paul Mc Cartney and Dire Straits.
The result was “All In Allâ€, a debut album which attracted attention far beyond the Alpine range and received much critical acclaim. The hit single “New Day†was a breakthrough for the likeable newcomer from Central Switzerland and squatted the radio landscape for months.
As well as many club concerts, ivo and his band have featured on the main program of well-known open air concerts, and less than four months after the album’s release they toured the major European venues on the supporting program of Columbian superstar Shakira.
Together with the renowned swiss top-producer Thomas Fessler and the New York songwriter Jeff Coplan, with English lyrics and international sounds, ivo’s remarkable voice and songwriting–ability have created a musical context which is well worth listening to. Also, the first two single-releases “Somebody New“ and “Hold On“ were mixed by world-class engineer Chris Lord-Alge.
The new album “Closer†doesn’t sound like something we’ve heard before - on the contrary it is unbelievably fresh and unrestrained, and captivates the listener track after track. So be prepared for music that isn’t limited to the Swiss audience - because this is music for the world! And be prepared for somebody whose acknowledged intention is to reach everybody who loves great songs, meaningful lyrics, sensitive arrangements and powerful performance!
