About Me

If it's ueseless information you seek, come on down to Gary's wasted life emporium! Movie quotes for every occasion, obscure pop culture references, Expletive-laden screeds about the perceived ills of society- we have it all, and it's all for sale. Apall your friends, disappoint your parents, get thrown out of high society functions. Two middle fingers, no waiting!I strive to be a combination of Frank Sinatra, Robert Rodriguez, Jerry Lee Lewis, and a Shaolin monk. So, far, I have failed miserably in every way. But I seem to have mastered the art of failure, so I got that going for me. Which is good.I also strive to one day remove myself from society, and live in a cabin in some nice woods somewhere, with actual seasons, and trees, and maybe a lake, and write movies, and e-mail them to people who will pay me money for them. Then, I will fire up a bowl, go fishing, and listen to the sound of you being nowhere near me.

My Interests

Comic books, movies, music, television, stand-up comedy, social drinking, antisocial drinking, monkeys, boxing, boxing monkeys, the Cleveland Browns, kung- fu, the whole tiki/rockabilly/swing thing, werewolves, good BBQ, prescription pharmaceuticals, cooking, zombies, the calming effect of solitude and nature, girls in plaid skirts, and one button irridescent sharkskin suits.

I'd like to meet:

Most of the people I'd like to meet are dead. Bruce Lee, Elvis, Sam Peckinpah, Charles Bukowski, Sergio Leone, Sid Vicious, The Rat Pack, Lee Harvey Oswald, Humphrey Bogart. But I wouldn't mind having a beer with Bruce Willis, killing Zombies with Bruce Campbell, staring longingly into John Cusack's dreamy eyes (he's my man crush...) or making Jessica Alba fight Jessica Biel, in bikinis. I mean, THEM in bikinis, not me.

Music:

I'm mainly a rocker, but I really listen to everything. Some favorites: The Stones, the Stooges, the Sex Pistols, the New York Dolls, the Clash, Elvis Presley (and Costello, for that matter), Greg Dulli, greasy Texas blues rock, classic soul (from Aretha and Marvin, to Otis, and Al Green), sweaty funk (Prince, JB, TOP, P-Funk, Barry White...), spooky Portishead type stuff, classic country (George Jones, Conway Twitty, Hank III, Jerry Reed, etc.), Rockabilly, '80's metal/glam/sleaze rock (Faster Pussycat, GnR, Salty Dog, Jetboy, Hanoi Rocks, Rock City Angels, Junkyard, etc), early Van Halen, Izzy Stradlin, Jerry Lee Lewis (and the rest of the Sun Records cats), twangy Spaghetti western stuff, the brilliant Tom Waits, jazz, and the Rat Pack type guys- Dean, Sammy, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, and my own personal Jesus, Frank Sinatra. Television:

Current- Rescue me, The Sopranos, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, the Office, Law and Order:SVU, Family Guy, Cheaters, the one two punch of the Daily Show and the Colbert report, and Dateline, every time they invite pedophiles over and then arrest them. All time- The Simpsons, Dragnet, CHiPs, Action (Jay Mohr), the original Bob Newhart show, the Rockford Files, MASH, Seinfeld, Mad About You, and the original Mary Tyler Moore show (that Murray Slaughter is a hoot!).

My personal style Bible, "The Way You Wear Your Hat: Frank Sinatra and the Lost Art of Living", by Bill Zehme. Anything by Jim Thompson, Jerry Stahl, Chuck Palahniuk, Stephen King, Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Elmore Leonard, James Ellroy, Duane Swierczynski, and Charles Bukowski.

Heroes:

Cool Hand Luke, Robert Rodriguez, Bruce Lee, Humphrey Bogart, Dolemite, Henry David Thoreau, Indiana Jones, Bill Murray, Vlad The Impaler, Charles Bukowski, Buckaroo Banzai, George Carlin, Hunter S Thompson, Cassius Clay, Clint Eastwood, Henry Hill (before he became a rat...), Frank Sinatra.
