My Interests

My interests are you and your life and me and my life. When/if I grow up I'm gonna play first base for the Yankees...or I'll be a Pirate (not the kind found in the cellar of the National League - a REAL one!!!) Pirates are cool...

Within these walls waits an experience that will change your perception of art. I was never a big Dali fan until I visited his museum outside of Barcelona. There's this really cool 40's car with a giant lady built on top and an out-of-focus Abraham Lincoln portrait that's gotta be 25 feet high and all of these really cool eggs and..and..and...(breathe, Rob)....

Music:

My most favorite musician of all time: Ella Fitzgerald. Isn't she enchanting? Dizzy seems to agree. See the guy checkin' out Dizzy checkin' out Ella? See the look in his eyes? That's Ray Brown, Ella's hubby. Imagining what Ray's thinking proves pictures really are equal to a mess o' words.

HUMBLE PIE If these blokes can't get you off you'd better check your pulse.

In 1998 I played CB's 6 times in 3 weeks with 4 different bands. When I arrived at soundcheck for the sixth time Hilly smiled at me and said, "You're not on my payroll, are you?" Thanks for everything you did to keep the vibe alive long after it was dead in the rest of the country, Hilly. Good luck with your next club: CBGB - OMFIH (Country Bluegrass Blues - Other Music Found IN HEAVEN) **Hilly Kristal** 1931-2007

Movies:

Only if she'll curl up on the sofa and watch it with me. The last time I went to the theater was to see Depp's 1st pirate movie. Pirates are cool....

Television:

No, thank you. Unless it's a baseball game - ANY baseball game. Peewee T-ball, college, spring training, little league, girls high school softball, it doesn't matter - I'm still yellin' "batter batter...SWING!!"....and these two lovers:

Books:

I read me a whole mess of them there whatchucallum books. This here is merely a peek:

From Sexy Reading

Heroes:

All of these people and everyone like them - supporters of live music. Maybe you shouldn't click on this pic...I think I see yer ma back there... Sir Charles Chaplin. For a great read check out his biography by David Robinson. His life story is amazing. Also, his wife has a really cool name: Oona. F. Scott's wife's name was cool, too: Zelda Fitzgerald. I'm goin' on a tangent here. Focus, man...... Audrey Hepburn was more than the most beautiful woman ever to walk the Earth and..uh...something else...oh yeah, an actress lady. The work she did with UNICEF is inspirational.
Lou Gehrig and the great Babe Ruth. Lou Gehrig - the quiet, stay-at-home, sober one. He died young, only 37, but still considered himself "the luckiest man on the face of the Earth". Babe Ruth - extreme pundit of wine, women and song, but he called it "booze, broads, and Broadway". The Bambino didn't last much longer, 53, but he lived it large. Love ya, Babe! Brooks Robinson may have been the "Human Vacuum", but this sucka is also a golden soul. If you ever get the chance to meet him, do it, regardless if you like baseball or not. When I grow up I'm gonna be a Triple-A roadside assistance truck driver. Anyone in need is ALWAYS glad to see this guy. A modern knight in the shining steel of a tow truck. Everyone will hear me comin' because I'm gonna blast the Lone Ranger theme through speakers on my roof. Steve Marriott. He gave his all in every song he performed. Uninhibited, unrestricted, unconstrained passion.
Carl Gustav Jung. In his memoir "Memories, Dreams, Reflections", Jung wrote that meaning comes “when people feel they are living the symbolic life, that they are actors in the divine drama. That gives the only meaning to human life; everything else is banal and you can dismiss it. A career, producing of children, are all maya (illusion) compared to that one thing, that your life is meaningful.” Deep...but swimable. 'Ol C.G. was modern man's greatest thinker. In the smallest of nutshells, fusing psychology with spirituality was his bag. It's a beautiful bag....it goes with any shoes you care to wear.
This guy's got it goin' on - learn from him, dammit. It's all about love, ya bastids! Even a moron like you can understand that. Look at me - I'm spewin' love all over this crappy hell hole.
