Robin Hunter and the Six Foot Bullies

An acoustic trio playing the songs of Robin Hunter

About Me

Robin Hunter stumbled out of the 1990's after 11 years with a local (Edmonton) band named The Imagineers. The band played many shows with the likes of Nomeansno,SNFU,Seaweed,Change of heart,Big drill car, Eugene Chadbourne, etc. and released some music that now is obscure and difficult to find. In 1999, He took a different direction and became a musical sideman working with Tanyss Nixi,Everett Laroi,Old Reliable,Wendy Mcneill,Justin Rutledge,Mark Davis, etc. It was as a sideman and a contributor to the local free improvised music scene that he began working with John Woruschuk(Resonator,Dobro,Mandolin) and Thom Golub(Upright Bass). In 2004, Robin Hunter and the six foot bullies released "Your heart my sleeve" The band is rehearsing in preparation for a second release, tentatively titled "I'm missing the least important part of my stamp collection" please stay tuned. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Sounds Like: Hello people of myspace.com, my name is Robin Hunter. I am a musician living far away from most of you. I got involved with myspace to have more people hear what Robin Hunter and the six foot bullies are all about. I write songs, sing, play acoustic and electric guitar as well as acoustic and electric slide guitar, I also play quite a bit of steel guitar(non-pedal), as well as bass guitar and drums. John Woroschuk plays a Lazar resonator guitar and other dobro-type instuments and he also plays electric and acoustic guitar and mandolin. Thom Golub is one of the major stylists on upright bass in our area. He plays upright in many jazz combos and also is a sideman and session ace for many of our area's best singer-songwriters. Thom also introduced John and I to the joys of free-improvised music. Our band sound is honed though years of playing experience. I hope you enjoy it.
