Avantgarde came together in November 2005 with the idea of transcribing energy and raw emotion, the channeling of the creative wonder of feeling, into music. With each member adding a fresh bit of spice to the melodic stew, the result is a diverse, measured, and most tantalizingly beautiful assortment of moody, happy, jazzy or even loving songs. Our aim in music, as in life, is to express the unique and dynamic flow of emotion, and as such, bearing in mind that all of us are different in our own way, our sound tends towards the unusual and experimental. We have a deep love for music, which is bound to no genre. We listen to artists ranging from John Mayer and The Beatles, all the way across the spectrum to Tool, and A Perfect Circle. And sandwiched somewhere in the middle there are the likes of RHCP, Sting, Thursday, Incubus... etc. We're totally in love with the way music makes us feel, with the stream of consciousness that courses through everything around us. What we hope to achieve with our music is to share that love with everyone, and to make people feel the way we do, to bask in the trickle of sound running through their very beings and stirring up what it will. Our biggest influence is the world around us and the worlds within, and we're all inexplicably drawn to the warmth of sound and light, fusing into one, channeled across the air-waves and into the hearts of four hopeless romantics, to create avantgarde...
