What does a scanner see? Into the head? Into the heart? Does it see into me? Clearly? Or darkly?

About Me

MySpace appeals to me because it allows so much opportunity for personal expression, from blogs to images to page backgrounds. Now MySpace has gone mainstream but I still love it because I am a writer by instinct. I want people to read my work. Sometimes I write diary entries, while other times I discuss politics or entertainment. It all depends on my mood. If you join this site expect to find a compulsive writer who is unafraid of expressing controversial or even deeply personal ideas. You will discover a writer of wit, emotion, and sensuality.I love so many things in this world, including the city, the ocean, cats, literature, and exploring. Feel free to drop me a line if you are not a bigot, homophobe, or hick because I am always interested in meeting fascinating people.

You scored as Existentialist, Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Mankind is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.

My Interests

Writing about my surroundings, dreams, fantasies, etc. Experiencing new and exciting things. I enjoy the city and nature alike, walking along the beach at sunset, and having weird conversations. Although I am quite serious at times my sense of humor is playful and occasionally random. During the summer I like to watch Shakespeare in the Park productions. When in Providence I love witnessing the Water Fires (www.waterfire.org). While hanging out with my cats I like to play and take pictures. I love the intoxicating aroma of black opium incense and the taste of peppermint herbal tea. One of my great guilty pleasures is Cinnamin Sunset Tea, which is carried at the Barnes and Noble version of Starbucks. Coffee houses and bookstores are my favorite haunts, although I have been known to shake my money maker at goth clubs on occasion.

Music:

Lou Reed/Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Tom Waits, The Dresden Dolls, Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett/Roger Waters, Lucretia's Daggers (www.lucretiasdaggers.com, Radiohead/Thom Yorke, Robyn Hitchcock (I became familiar with his work at the wonderful suggestion of Ms. L from San Fran), Placebo, Portishead, The Cure, Kraftwerk, Bjork, Switchblade Symphony, Skinny Puppy, VNV Nation, KMFDM, Covenant, Apoptygma Berserk, Voltaire, Jill Tracy, Rachmaninov, Billy Idol, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Bauhaus, Iggy Pop/The Stooges, The Acid Monkeys, Neil Young, Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys, Marilyn Manson, NIN, Wumpscut, Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Leaether Strip, Effcee, Frank Sinatra, Monster Magnet, Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, The Ramones, Rob Zombie, Audioslave, Orbital, King Crimson, Android Lust, Voivod, Outkast, Dropkick Murphys, Flesh Tech Asylum (an old industrial project of mine), Philip Glass, The Doors, meowing, purring, hissing, some Green Day, T-Rex, astromech chirping, the Oompa Loompa song (from the seventies version), autumn winds, the crashing of waves in a sleepy town by the ocean, the hum of a lightsaber, drivers honking their horns at me because I cut them off, the sound of Al Franken's voice as he belittles our pathetic president, etc.

Movies:

Star Wars (in the following order): 1A: Revenge of the Sith, 1B: The Empire Strikes Back, 2: A New Hope (original movie, to those of you not in the know :)), 3A: Return of the Jedi, 3B: Attack of the Clones, 4: The Phantom Menace. Non Star Wars favorites include the following: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, Corpse Bride, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, Big Fish, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Mars Attacks, A Scanner Darkly, Bridge to Terebithia, Heathers, Wickerman, Polanski's version of Macbeth, Naked Gun movies, Bladerunner, Angels in America, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, The Blues Brothers, Bowling for Columbine, Farhenheit 911, Harvey, Pulp Fiction, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, V for Vendetta, The Matrix (first two), Bram Stoker's Dracula, Fight Club, The Black Hole, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, The Departed, From Hell, The Horror of Dracula, This is Spinal Tap.

Television:

Stay away from the tube. It burns giant holes in your brain. OK, maybe one percent of television is actually worth watching, but I don't have time to wait around. Life is way too short. However, there are some tolerable shows which will not damage your brain (if watched in small doses), including the following: All in the Family, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Third Rock from the Sun, Spongebob Squarepants, David Letterman, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Is there anything more idiotic than "reality" TV? If you want to experience reality, try getting out of your living room.

Books:

Shakespeare- my favorites are Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, Antony & Cleopatra, Othello, Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, The Winter's Tale, and Henry IV (parts one and two).
