Having reached a turning point...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet most anyone who has even one tiny thing in common with me really. I like being exposed to new things by people, so I don't expect to only be spoken to by clones of myself. I'm looking for any level of relationship with folks too. Acquaintance, friend, debate partner, whatever. I'm looking for it all so feel free to drop a line whatever your interests are.

Music:

A Perfect Circle, Nirvana, older Pearl Jam stuff, Nightwish, Tool, Lacuna Coil, Evanesence, Marilyn Manson, Dave Mattews Band, Norah Jones, Sublime, Green Day, Jack Off Jill, Billy Joel, The Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, They Might Be Giants, Eminem, Frank Sinatra, Simon & Garfunkel, The Platters, The Streets, Veruca Salt, Cake, Liz Phair, Kittie, Fiona Apple, System of a Down, Blink 182, Garbage, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Elastica, Hole, Jimmy Eat World, and many more...

Movies:

Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, 28 Days Later, Secretary, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, anything with Angelina Jolie, Batman, Spider-Man, Spider Man 2, X Men, X men 2, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Village, Four Rooms, Clue, Office Space, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Seven, Silence of the Lambs, Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Aliens vs. Predator, Devil's Advocate, Fight Club, 8mm

Television:

Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI, Friends, WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown, The History Channel, Teen Titans, Space Ghost

Books:

Anything by John Douglas who was a criminal profiler for the FBI. Anything by R. A. Salvatore (though it's been a while since I read his stuff). Right now I'm reading Constantine's Sword. I'm also partway through Kushiel's Dart, which if you like fantasy and fetishes is a must-read. I am just about finished with The DaVince Code, which I started just so I could finally say "yes" when people ask if I've read it. Turns out it's fantastic. Also "Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns" is a great and fun read.

Heroes:

My father, Batman, John Douglas... hmmm.... I'll think of more later.

My Blog

Stunned and disgusted

Last night I started up my tape of Monday Night Raw expecting the continuation of the "Death of Vince McMahon" storyline.  Instead the show started with and empty arena, and Vince McMahan saying ...

The Violence double standard

I have believed that video games are another medium for telling a story, just like books or movies, ever since we got out of the days of Pac-Man.  As time has gone on, the stories video games hav...

Help! I'm a vulture!

Now before you jump to any conclusions, I don't go around eating road kill or anything. But apparently the way my neck curves, or rather, that way my giant head pulls my neck forward over my chest giv...

Dark Star One

-Begin Transmission- Today was the start of a new era in my life.  I finally got my own ship, and the vastness of space is now my ocean. Upon setting out into the vast black, it wasn't long befor...

Jerry Falwell

I heard today that Jerry Falwell is dead.  I can't see this as a tragedy for America, but my heart does go out to those who cared for the man. Jerry Falwell was perhaps the most well known and to...

Work, working out, wrestling and Sega

Work is madness right now and will likely be until May 5th when the First Hill store closes.  We are having a sale and it is well and truly a madhouse unlike anything I have seen before in a...

This last weekend I went back to Portland briefly because my good friend, Mandy, who used to live there was visiting from Florida.  Leading up to the trip I wondered a bit how I would feel about...
