About Me

I was told to shorten my profile...it took too long to read...
I'm currently in Atlanta, at Georgia Tech (still), for graduate school in Mechanical Engineering. I do some pretty nerdy stuff there that I think is pretty sweet. Grad school is awesome though: work my own hours, make enough to get by, and have lots of time to do my own thing. I'm really hoping to be out in August '07. After that I want to take some time off...possibly hit the trail for a month on the Appalachian Trail and then head out West for a bit. Then on with real life after that...

I do a lot with the outdoor club at Tech (ORGT). Do a lot of caving and backpacking. I'm up for all kinds of big adventure trips. Going to New Hampshire just after Christmas for a basic mountaineering course and hopefully a Mt Washington summit. And I'm wanting to get down to Mexico for Spring break for caving in some of the world's deepest pits.

My Interests

To sum this up: any sport/activity related to being outdoors.I do lots of backpacking. I try to do trips that push my physical ability or in kind of extreme, unpleasant conditions. I'm a Trip Leader with ORGT and enjoy taking new people out as well.

I also cave as much as possible. Yup, underground. I live in a great area to do this and I'm trying to take advantage of this while I am down in the SE.

What else...? Fishing when I have the chance. I really like craft beer as well. I go to pretty odd lengths to get brews from all of the US.

I'm generally up for whatever...but usually find myself with too little time...

Music:

Keepin' it short...Rock and occassionally country. Rock preferences are New Rock: Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Shinedown, Seether, stuff like that...

Movies:

Not too much...I don't watch movies very often...Shawshank Redemption is my personal fav...hard to think of other things right now...

Television:

Not much time for TV...Travel channel, TLC, National Geographic, and Discovery have adventure sports oriented specials every now and then that I catch...

Books:

I dont read a whole lot unfortunetly, but recently I like "Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson and "Desert Solitude" by Edward Abbey. I have some other books I want to pick up...maybe they'll make the list.

Heroes:

Anyone who is currently doing what they need to in life to be happy. There is no time to waste, might as well get busy doing what you really want to do...
