Clyde F.C. are a Scottish football team currently playing in the First Division of the Scottish Football League. They are currently managed by Joe Miller.Nicknamed 'The Bully Wee', they were founded in 1877 at Barrowfield Park and currently play their football at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld. Their primary colours are red, white and black, and club honours include winning the Scottish Cup in 1939, 1955 and 1958 and the Glasgow Cup in 1915, 1926, 1947, 1952 and 1959. The name 'Clyde' comes from the River Clyde which flows through Glasgow.
Despite finishing third in the Scottish League in 1967, Clyde were refused entry to the Fairs Cup due to the "one club per city" rule. Rangers, who finished second, were given Glasgow's place. Thus Clyde have never qualified for European competition.
After 20 years at Barrowfield Park since the foundation, the Club moved to Shawfield Stadium. In 1986, the Club left there and shared Firhill Stadium of Partick Thistle for 5 years. After that period, the Club then shared the home stadium of Hamilton Accies. Finally the Club moved to their present home, Broadwood Stadium, which is in the Town of Cumbernauld.
Clyde's traditional rival clubs are the Old Firm and Partick Thistle which are all in Glasgow. Our Recent history includes comming very close to beating Rangers at Ibrox last season in the CIS Cup, but came undone in extra time eventually losing 5-2. However we did beat there old firm rivals Celtic in a live televised Skysports match in the scottish cup, a match in which Roy Keane was to make his debut for the Glasgow club, Clyde over powered and out played this team who went on to go on an unbeaten run untill they eventually won there respective title. That day could have been a white wash if it were not for some very WRONG refereing decisions. Clyde were victorius 2-1 winners a match every clyde fan will remember for the rest of there lives.
