2008 electoral vote map - Los Angeles Times
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-votemap,0,...

Here's my best guess for the 2008 Election. Obama will win Ohio, but not because he needs it. This will be the biggest landslide since '96. Possibly since '84. Obama wins: NV, CO, NM, MO, IA, PA, WI, MI, MN, VA & NJ. McCain might possibly pick up NH and will pick up WV & FL. But that's it. After that, all the states will be the usual.

One of the best political blogs around

I'd like to meet:

* Women, men, and just generally people who like where they've been.
* Free thinkers, social drinkers, people who use their car's blinkers.
* Progressives, obsessives, and most anybody who is non-depressive.
* People who think the Northwest is the best and whose lifestyles are both in motion and at rest.

Music:

Pavement, Radiohead, Fugazi, Pixies, Nirvana, Built to Spill -- and all the predictable U2, Dave Matthews, Coldplay stuff, too.

Movies:

You Can Count on Me, Pulp Fiction, To Kill a Mockingbird, Garden State, Knocked Up, The Big Lebowski, It's a Wonderful Life, Crash, Field of Dreams, Groundhog Day, Groundhog Day, Groundhog Day, Groundhog Day (get it?) Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Chasing Amy, Clerks, Say Anything, Singles, Elizabethtown, Almost Famous, Bowling for Columbine, Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, The Station Agent, The Contender, Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail, etc.

Television:

Scrubs, Sports Night, The Daily Show, West Wing, My Name is Earl, How I Met Your Mother, Numbers, Grey's Anatomy, Jeopardy!, SNL, NFL Football. But I've seen every Seinfeld and Friends episode ever made -- so we'll have plenty to talk about no matter who you are.

Books:

Letters from a Birmingham Jail, The Republic, Walden, To Kill a Mockingbird, Thank You for Smoking, Never Mind Nirvana, A Vast Conspiracy & Blinded By the Right.

Heroes:

Thomas Jefferson (except for the slavery and sleeping around), Teddy Roosevelt (except for the racism and pomposity), Hunter S. Thompson (except for the gun-obsession and intoxicated operation of heavy machinery), Cameron Crowe (except when he tries too hard for the joke) my grandfathers (RIP) and my daughters.
