News & Gossip New BPW Tag Team Champions
Todd Mullins and Donny Redd, along with their partner and TNA star Ms. Traci Brooks, made good on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at BPW Tag Team gold. In a rare 6-person mixed tag match, Mullins and Redd took on champs Ed Gonzales and Jake Simmons as Ms. Brooks kept Heather Owens in line. Gonzales' strategy of insulting and infuriating Ms. Brooks before the opening bell seemed to backfire, and may have even helped give the new champs the edge they needed in this hard-fought victory. Congratulations Todd and Donny!
Shark Boy,, New #1 Contender to BPW Heavyweight Title
Shark Boy,, came out of the gate full of fire, fighting former partner Cody Hawk all over the building in their much anticipated 30-minute Iron Man match. Hawk tried to take advantage of the rules, giving up one fall to a disqualification early on, then using that DQ as an excuse to injure Shark Boy,, and try to gain several quick falls before the Shark could recover. But Hawk didn't count on Shark's resilience and determination, which carried through to a clear win and a Shark Boy,, title shot at Halloween Horrors.
Sweet Deal for Sweet Lou
Sweet Lou Roberts, apparently with help from Patrick Black and BPW co-owner Jonny Fairplay, somehow secured the right choose his own opponent at the August 19th Four Year Anniversary event. Roberts demanded a match with Scary Garry, who was not scheduled to compete but was at ringside to support his mentor, Shark Boy,,, in the main event. Even with no chance to prepare for the bout, Garry made a strong showing. But Roberts, with Patrick Black in his corner and an unmatched hostility in the ring, overwhelmed Garry to claim another BPW win. Roberts went too far as he continued beating on the defeated Garry after the final bell, forcing Sami Callihan and Darrell Hazel to make the save and prevent permanent injury to Garry.
Halloween Horrors 2007
BPW's annual Halloween Horrors event will return to Coconutz on Sunday, October 28th! Along with the usual fun and prizes, you'll also see a Halloween Horrors Weapons Battle Royal, and Shark Boy,, gets his chance at the BPW Heavyweight title as he faces champion Jake Crist. Any remaining seats will be available at the door for $12 per adult or $6 for each child under 12, but advanced tickets are available here at a $2 discount! Doors open at 3:00 pm and the show starts at 4:00, so come early and enjoy drinks and snacks as you prepare for BPW's Halloween Horrors!
