SUFFOCATE FASTER [FINALLY! MERCH STORE IS UP!]

Attempting to stray from the over-exposed trends that plagued Cincinnati Ohio's music scene, Suffocate Faster was created in the fall of 2001. With pride in the straight edge lifestyle and influences like Hatebreed and Earth Crisis, Suffocate Faster sought to create music far more aggressive than what you were hearing on radio and television. It was time to bring their powerful sound to the proverbial table of the music world. On April 20th, 2004 the band released it's first full length album, "Only Time Will Tell" through Broken Sounds. The album caught the attention of many, showed the world Suffocate Faster was here to be heard, and instilled the want for one more thing, touring.
So from May 2004 to the present Suffocate Faster have done just that, playing all over the U.S. and sharing the stage with acts like Hatebreed, Full Blown Chaos, Bleeding Through, Bury Your Dead, Atreyu, Unearth, Comeback Kid, Throwdown, Everytime I Die, Between the Buried and Me, Scars of Tomorrow, Vietnom DMS, Remembering Never, War Of Ages, Shattered Realm, A Perfect Murder, First Blood, Death Before Dishonor, Agnostic Front, 100 Demons, XBishopX, Ringworm, Sworn Enemy, Terror, Mr. Dibbs, xDeathstarx, Embrace Today, Palehorse, Blood In Blood Out and many more. Suffocate Faster was also featured on the Kevin Lyman Says Stage on the 2004 Vans Warped Tour. Fast forward to 2006. SXF signed to a new label called 1981 Records, recorded a new full length titled "Don't Kill The Messenger" and it was released Sept. 19th. It will be time to hit the road full time first thing in 2007 and be relentless in their onslaught of the music world. They will destroy a city near you. (J/K...WE BROKE UP!)
Upon learning that the Cincinnati, OH quartet Suffocate Faster is straight-edge and list such respected outfits as Hatebreed and Earth Crisis as prime influences, it's not too hard to connect the dots regarding what their music would sound like. And upon hearing their sophomore effort, 2006's Don't Kill the Messenger, these assumptions prove completely correct. Aggressive metal with hardcore leanings is a fitting description of the album's 11 ditties, as ra-ta-tat-tat drumming and riffing and scream-until-you're-blue-in-the-face vocals are the main ingredients. The intensity and rage don't dip for a second, as evidenced by such hardcore-worthy song titles as "Taste My Steel," "A War Within," and "Fight the Real Enemy." ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
