“Be strong†said the man in the black coat
His voice penetrating the mumbled echoes of my mind
“Don’t let the buggers grind you down†he calls to me
The words entering my ear like a poker to a fire
Fast and emotionless, they pierce my skull
Pausing only to tease the paranoia of my conscience
And all at once they are gone
Dissipating as quickly as they came
He calls again; “Don’t despair, I can help youâ€
His words this time louder
I shun them to the depths of my brain
And wait for them to wither
All too soon, his cry again
“Come with me, my friend†his voice now earnest
“I can take you on a journey
To a place you can be freeâ€
The gentleman’s offer sounding pleasing, I turn my head
His cap now removed, he leans towards me
“Come, my friend, and taste the elixir of freedomâ€
I cling to his mat black coat as he tilts further towards me
Leaning in, I kiss his head
And taste the moisture on his brow
A wave of acceptance washes over me and something snaps
I grab his coat with both hands clenched tight
In one violent act, I pull him towards me
My head thrown back, our juices intertwine
I am lost in the tsunami of his distraction
I can feel him inside me, easing the pain
That warm embrace I felt before
Now returned to help me through
And now it’s over and the man is gone
I drained him in a fit of passion
And now I am numb and I can sleep
So I fall into the dark
To sleep a dreamless sleep
And awake to wait, for his return
The man in the black coat
